CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones announced that they have traded forward Mark Voakes and defenseman Scott Marchesi to Bakersfield in exchange for future considerations.

Any thoughts????

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Voakes was a BIG surprise to trade, maybe the only good thing about it is we could bring back Mathieu Aubin but if I was Bakersfield I wouldnt let anybody touch him but its a remote thought

Voakes was explosive prior to the injury and he was one of my favorite players pre & post injury. I'm just going to pretend that Bakersfield is getting damaged goods, otherwise this is a huge disappointment.

Im surprised giving up Voakes. He impresssed me at the begining of the season and was on of my favorite players. Hopefully we get a player sooner then later.

Hate to see Voakes go, but in all honesty he hasn't seemed as quick or generally scrappy as he did before the injury.

"Future Considerations" sometimes means the roster is just too full or there is an expectation of someone getting sent down. I kind of figured a D man would be going somewhere, but I didn't expect a forward.

We'll see. My guess is that the "replacements" will come from within.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.

my bet is that chuck already knows what he is getting in return and i expect that it will mathieu aubin making a return to cincy...this team needs that physical player who doesnt mind standing in front of the opposition's net. also mathieu knows chuck's system, not to mention was part of the cup winning team...

I'm guessing we'll get Auby back, but at the same time I wonder if the future considerations could be from another trade that Bakersfield has going on. Kinda like the trades at the start of the season we had been involved with.

That sure is one I didn't see coming. I'm sorry to see Voakes go, but I don't doubt Coach has something up his sleeve. With the K-Wings now having the advantage with games-in-hand for the division lead, I'm sure he is working on something to strengthen the roster for the long haul.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

Unusual for a "future considerations" trade to be made this late in ECHL but Bakersfield has a game Wednesday at home so I imagine the new players will be announced after the game in time fro Saturday in Elmira.

Upset to see Voakes go! He is a great player. Coach said everyone will be happy with the trade, so my guess is Aubin, but obviously I have been fooled before!!! The trade deadline is the 13th, do you think we can expect more?

Apocalypse Sticks, I think you are on to something. Chuck is very smart when it comes to moving players so maybe he knew something we don't. Also I hope the trade is for Aubin and again I trust Chuck and his instincts. If somehow we managed to trade an injured players, albeit and explosive one when healthy, for Mathieu Aubin it will once again be an example of why chuck is so outstanding and why the Cyclones prove year after year that they are the only true professional sports franchise in Cincinnati. The Bengals bring in a circus clown and criminals, the Reds never bring in anyone and the Cyclones continually bring in proven talents and never have to give up a lot to get that talent

And I think also there could be one more move to come. I get a weird feeling, that, with the power play struggling as it has all year, Chuck will be looking to add some fire power, and a certain former Cyclone and Nailer could just end up back here.

Aubin would be interesting. Probably a wash with Volkes on offense but much bigger and tougher and as we have seen in the last few weeks good fore checking slows this team down.He also knows the system here which is a big plus this late in the season.

Not too sure about if I like the idea of a "former Cyclone/Nailer" Dont see Chuck bringing a problem into the locker room. Maybe it was just Wheeling. Anyone know how he was perceived while here in the locker room?
