Russell signed to a 1 year, 2-way contract by the Habs. Played for the Cyclones in 2007-08.

Russell's another guy who will be better served by getting out of the Montreal Smurf forward system. He ought to be an UFA (unrestricted free agent) after next season or the following season.

I'll never forget his series-winning OT goal vs. S. Carolina in the Conf. Finals in 2008. He wasn't a Cyclone for very long, but was a key player in his brief stint here. Hopefully he can join his twin brother in the NHL in the near future.
