We really are bad right now. Seem to have the offense but no defense. I told my wife I wouldn't shave until we win. Looks like I will be looking like Grizzly Adams pretty soon.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

After losing only 12 games last season it looks like we'll be lucky to win 12 games this season. What a difference 4 months makes in the world of minor league hockey.

I was just wondering if you guys are out on ice... with all the WE talk.

I see that they Cyclones just can't seem to keep the puck out of the net. REMEMBER 2 years ago we were not as solid until the players learned Chuck's system. This is a different group of guys and only a hand full know the system.

Don't BAIL ON THEM... THIS IS A YOUNG TEAM OUT THERE...They will make it work in their own time.

That whole you're not out on the ice argument is crap and you know it. The ones who said it didn't mean it like they were on the ice so don't start that stuff. I don't know about you but it's not a good thing when your goalies have given up 21 goals in 3 games is it?

Maybe we should be on the ice. Certainly couldn't do any worse. Unfortunately I didn't have the $500 for the open tryouts. I don't care if it's a young team learning Chuck's system or not, it's still 21 ga in 3 games against what are going to be 2 bad teams most likely this season. Yes they are learning, but there's no excuse for the ridiculous crappy defense and goaltending so far in 3 games. Losing while learning is one thing, but 21ga in 3 games is just plain unacceptable.

I will go lay down in the goal and eat a sandwich. I will stop more goals then the clones that we are suiting up each night. Chuck needs to start busting some heads and cutting some guys from this squad. Grimaldi has done nothing but get us in trouble with his stupid penalties - CUT HIM.

All we can hope is Chuck can pursuade our affiliates to let one of the goal tenders walk and try to get Dov back. But then, if our defensemen don't start knocking people off the puck and playing hard you could have Chris Osgood in goal and it wouldn't matter. Our affiliates really haven't given us a whole lot but we lost a ton of talent.

And it doesn't matter how slow WE are starting, there is more need of a major change now than since being back in the ECHL. (and I say WE because WE all have a vested interest and passion for this team, just like the organization does....this is OUR team).

And regardless, thank you Chuck and the organization for giving Cincinnati something to be proud of, unlike the other two "professional" teams in this city. The Cylones can only play what we're given from the affiliates and a few loose free agents you can sign.

GO CYCLONES!

Okay, three games into a 72 game schedule we have serious questions about goaltending and defense. Folks... RELAX!!!!

Neither goaltender has played at this level. Their play can only improve. Both goaltenders have been assigned by our affiliates and are not going anywhere. They are here for playing time and thats what they'll get.

Our defense also needs time to gel. McElroy has been playing with Milwaukee; he's not coming back soon. Only now do we realize what Starling's +48 in the regular season really means. He's not here anymore so we have use what we have. Perkins and Makway were +2 and +3 respectively; its a start.

We have scored an average of 5.3 goals per ROAD GAME this season; HOW 'BOUT THEM APPLES!!. Beauregard is leading the league in goals and is not going anywhere unless there's a bus crash in Hamilton. Syro is back and he brought his heart. Gordon, Van Guilder sound impressive. Most importantly down 9-4 this team DID NOT GIVE UP!!

Wait and see folks. I predict a +.500 team, playoffs and a lot of entertaining hockey. These are NOT your 07-08 Cyclones but don't write them off yet.

I agree with tipavlik to a point, but there is nothing in Lacasse's history that makes me think he can play at this level, and I don't care if he did play on a sub-.500 team. Our goal tending may improve with time, but ANYTHING is better than a 7.00 GAA. Our offense is not the problem, and we can't expect 7 plus goals a game (or even 5.3). Our penalty kill is absolutley pathetic, and that can only improve as well. If this is to be a .500 team, I predict we will have at least one new goaltender and a minimum of two replacements on defense of a veteren quality.

Defense is the thing. We gave up 40+ shots last Saturday and 48 last night. Not surprising that we gave up a total of 14 goals in those two games. And we only lost them by one goal and two goals, so the offense is there, just imagine if we actually limited them their shots.

i'm not bailing on these guys but i do have 2 main concerns. 1st, like everyone has pointed out, the defense. we are allowing way to many shots. as others have said, it doesn't matter who is in net if they keep giving up 35+ shots per game. when the puck is in our defensive zone for more than 30secs it seems like the guys just start to panic and begin chasing the puck which never leads to good things. the real disconcerting thing about the defense is there was little improvement from the 1st to 2nd weekends. after seeing the issues of the 1st 2 games and having a full week to work on them i was hoping to see signs or improvement.

2nd, is the offense. i know we are putting up a bunch of goals, but they are mostly coming in transition. we aren't seeing the possession type hockey we have seen from chuck's last 2 squads. the best defense is a good offense, but it's not only about scoring goals, but puck possession and making the opponents panic and chase when the puck is in their zone.

i know the guys are young and are learning the system, but chuck's 1st team was young and had to learn the system and they had better defensive performances than what i'm currently seeing. i also know that championships are won in the spring and not in the fall, but making the playoffs is going to be a bit tougher this year with only 4 teams making it. we had leads against wheeling in both games and let them come back. i know rome wasn't built in a day, but i hope the 4pts lost to wheeling don't come back to bite us.

i'm not throwing in the towel and i won't, i'd just like to see some progress...

Weber's recruiting for defensemen is currently receiving a big fat F grading. The good news is that this is the ECHL and that roster fluidity is a big part of the equation. Weber is not going to sit back with the same lineup and allow 7 goals against per game. Unless he feels that the forwards aren't pulling their weight defensively or that the goaltending is the primary culprit for the odious defensive numbers to date.

The goaltending can't be as bad as it has been for the first three games. But, it still might be pretty bad. I would hope that if either of these guys continues to play sieve, that we won't be obligated to suffer through them the entire season.

If the team tanks again tonight, then I would fully expect to see a few cuts among the defense. Weber is a very bright guy. If he made some mistakes in the recruiting process, then he will remedy them He was able to obtain Swanson and McElroy in the middle of the season last year. He WILL NOT accept the level of performance seen to date.

Meanwhile, I happen to like high scoring games. As has been said: "The best defense is a good offense". Seems that's what we have to hang our hat on for the time being.

If you follow this team and a season
ticket hold I think you are a part of
this team and can say WE all you want.
Now that's out of the way WE need help
in the D department. These guy don't even
want to check anyone. Giving up too many shots too.
We need to get physical and hit someone now and
then.I will never give up on this team even if they only win
1 game. I will be there almost every game(weekdays are hard for me)
But I'm a full season ticket holder and I plan on being there
win lose or getting shelled 10-0 or whatever. One more thing and this is the million $$$ question? Where are these "well Known players" that wanted to come here that Weber was talking about last year? anyone remember Weber saying this? He said he can't name names but there are a lot of "well Known Players" that want to come here and play. anyone....anyone.......Bueller.....Bueller?
