Beau,Rank and Sawatske didn't exactly tear it up either....plus TJ is gone. hopefully Conrad is ready to step up cause this team really needs someone on D who will!~ |

macdonald was paired with sawatske. beau and rank were on the 1st line and their +/- was greatly effected by the defensive performance of macdonald, sawatske and makway. every single pp opportunity, it was as if one of them was coughing the puck up. not much beau and rank can do when they're deep in the offensive zone, pass the puck out to the point and the point man caughs the puck up. i think j-town scored more on our PP than we did this morning. that's how it went for the first 4 goals.
we controlled the puck for the majority of the 1st and 2nd periods today, but a j-town capitalized on every opportunity they had. the j-town goals were the result of horrendous turnovers by the d. one was on a breakout but the others were the d-men coughing the puck up in the offensive zone. then once we were down, it was like we put out the orange barrel defense; there was a lot of standing around.
the boys tried to make a game of it when barret scored a late short handed goal, after we had a couple of 5 on 3 PP. bottomline, it was too little too late, all because of a couple of blunders early on.
during the pregame, it was suggested that conrad could be ready to play by the weekend. the question i have is who do you sit down? the smart money would be on makway, but i would suggest sitting macdonald. the d got rolling while he was gone, sure tj came in and he was a huge help, but if conrad brings the game he had last year, he is every bit the player tj is. i'm just working off the premise that before macdonald got called up the defense was pathetic, while he was called up the defense got better, and now that he's back the defense took a few steps backwards. based on that, matt is the weak link.

Horrendous turnovers by Makway. The guy spends more energy chewing his damn gum than he does hitting, passing, or shooting. Yeah, I know he busted some poor guys nose. No emotion, no effort, and no heart equals NO ICE TIME!! Get him the HELL outta here!!

Who thinks that Kyle is in Ceddy spotlight???????? I know that he is no Ceddy. Hell I know we are never going to see what we had last year this year or maybe never again. Kyle will get better
with more playing time but I don't never see him being as good as Ceddy. No one will ever be a Ceddy and a team like we had last year comes once in a lifetime. |
