keep in mind jtest...you can't put it all on the goalie. with the defensive performances we've had at times we could have a 4x8 sheet of plywood in front of the net and still lost games 6-4. having a stable goalie that keeps it close and gives you a chance to win will lend confidence to the rest of the team. houle's performance in his first 2 games against wheeling, who is probably the best team in the division, has shown him to be more than capable. the rest of the team needs to come together. also, keep in mind that even ceddy, dov, max, and cody had off nights and gave up large numbers of goals at times, and last years team was far superior to this years defensively. if houle keeps his goals against between 2 and 3 per night he's doing exactly what he needs to do.

you are right 2 games is a small sample size but when they are against a team that has been as strong offensively as wheeling has, i think it shows a lot...

Another hockey genius - welcome to the conversation ClonesFanNKY - ahh NKY, that explains everything.

You seem to feel that a goalie with a pathetic professional record is just fine...I have higher expectations for this organization. Now RELAX!

I'll be back to this thread in about a month and we'll check the wins and loses column to see just who is "clueless" and who and has "knowledge".

I agree he is betther then what we had - I simply made the point that we could have done better - Caitskee thought that I would be wise to question my opinion...We'll see Einstein!

Hahahaha you make me laugh. The reason I called you out after Houle's win was because you had posted when he was signed acting like you weren't gonna give him a chance to prove himself to you. You were looking at his stats and were saying HELL NO before even seeing him play. As I've said before, THAT IS WHAT PISSED ME OFF. I don't know how well Houle is going to play in the future, and I never predicted ANYTHING that will get a bet going on for the W/L record he accumulates over time. All I was saying was that it was not fair for you to be ragging on him without even seeing him play, and after his win I thought it was extremely funny that you had predicted the most horific thing to have stepped foot on our ice! Sorry you got your panties in a twist, I was just wondering if you were still "VERY DISAPPOINTED" with the trade after the win!!!

Hahahahaha again I am laughing!! Thanks for that by the way.

So now that you have been called out you are telling people to relax when you were the one freaking out about Houle even coming here? Your lack of relaxation skills is what started all of this.

Is that not what I've been saying this whole time? Maybe it takes reading it 12934 times to get it through his head.

in minor league hockey you can't look at records, or even the stats from one year. if a goalie is on a bad team, ie houle last year in wheeling, his numbers are going to suffer because those guys don't care about playing in their own end..you have to dig into the numbers a little deeper to see what you're getting. if i look at houle's career numbers, i see a guy that played 40 games in the AHL in 05-06 and was 18-18-1 with a sv% of .914 and a gaa of 2.54. in 06-07 he went 12-17-2 with a sv% of .893 and a gaa of 3.32 in the AHL. those numbers aren't too shabby. even last year in the echl for wheeling his stats were decent given how bad wheeling played in their own end (he has a gaa of 3.37 and a sv% of .889) his ahl numbers from last year were better than his echl numbers with a gaa of 2.85 and a sv% at .892. those are pretty good numbers, and if the team plays in front of him we can only expect bigger and better things from him...
