Cyclones Acquire Pair on Saturday

Date: 12/27/2008

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that they have acquired a pair of players on Saturday. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

The Cyclones have signed Bryan O’Hanley to a contract. O’Hanley, 24, started his rookie season with Fresno, prior to the club closing its doors on December 22. Bryan is one of the first players from that club to sign an ECHL contract. With Fresno, he played in 27 games and had three assists. The five-foot-eleven, 190 pound defenseman was a ninth round draft pick of San Jose in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. A three-time letterwinner at Boston College, O’Hanley appeared in 112 games, scoring six goals and 18 assists for 24 points and 44 penalty minutes there. He will be in uniform for the Cyclones tonight, wearing jersey number five.

The Cyclones have also acquired forward Brandon Scero from Stockton in exchange for future considerations. Scero, 22, was in his rookie season with the Thunder and had 20 games between Utah, Elmira and Stockton, picking up four goals and three assists for seven points and 20 penalty minutes. A four-year letterwinner at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Brandon played in 147 games, collecting 55 goals and 59 assists for 114 points and 146 penalty minutes. The six-foot, 190 pound forward also played two campaigns with the U.S. National Under-18 team, playing in 68 games and netting 28 goals and 15 assists for 43 points.

not the second coming of david desharnais or chad starling but it can't hurt can it?

Right now , anything helps.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You think Stockton will take Johnson for Scero as the "Future considerations?"

No, that would probably cost us future considerations also.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

I think in the long run these will work out. Looking at past stats the guys look like solid players, Chuck just need to get the team to rally together and have a strong showing the rest of the season.

CYCLONES HOCKEY!

I was at the game last night & O'Hanley played. He got no penalties & I think he will be a good fit.

Contrary to popular belief, Justin also played very smartly last night. I was very happy with the results.

Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.
