Latendresse Named Starter in All-Star Game
Date: 12/31/2008
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that forward Olivier Latendresse has been voted a starter in the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Latendresse 22, is a third-year pro from LaSalle, Quebec. Olivier registered 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points in 23 games prior to being recalled from Cincinnati by the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) on December 9. This season, he had nine multiple point games and collected points in 20 of the 23 games he played with the Cyclones. Since being recalled by Hamilton, Latendresse has five assists in seven games.
Last season, Latendresse started the season with Arizona (CHL) and was traded by Phoenix (NHL) to Montreal (NHL) in mid-season and was then assigned to the Cyclones. In 24 regular season games with Cincinnati, Olivier picked up seven goals and 28 assists for 35 points. During the Kelly Cup march, he played in all 22 games netting seven goals and twelve assists for 19 points.
The 2008-09 season marks the third straight campaign that a player in the Montreal Canadiens system has represented the Cyclones (David Desharnais played last season and Cedrick Desjardins appeared in 2006-07). Latendresse has been selected as a starter at forward for the American Conference, which is comprised of teams from the North and South Divisions. The game will be played at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA and will be played at 7pm on Wednesday, January 21.
Tickets for the 2008-09 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 144. The Cyclones host the Wheeling Nailers on Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30pm. The Trenton Devils are in on January 9 and 10 for 7:30pm clashes both nights. The club is now offering Family Four Packs (four tickets, four hot dogs, four Pepsis, four Cyclones winter hats, four public skate passes at SportsPlus and a SportsPlus game card) for just $69!

Didn't Hammer say that he is not going to be playing in the game? Something about eaither Montreal/Hamilton not wanting him to play or they are sending him back down. I barley heard it B/C my kids were fighting and i couldn't hear him. . So can someone fill me in. |

Latendresse is with the AHL in Hamilton but under contract to Montreal. Montreal will make the decision to either keep him in the AHL or send him down to play in the All-Star game. Unless Hamilton gets a few forwards back (some came back this week) Latendresse is a neccessary cog in the Hamilton wheel, and therefore not coming back for an All-Star game or otherwise.
If you were in high school would you come back for a 8th grade mixer ? Not unless your Mom made you. |

| Hey, can't a guy dream? Just kidding. I do not for one minute expect Latte to play in the all star game. I am just proud of the fact he was chosen to represent us! I fully expect to see him playing in M.Canadians with his brother. GO LATTE! |

| With all of the injuries to MTL, that might just happen. |
