Some like to start hurtful rumors with nothing behind them. My hurtful rumors at least have a source
Wheeling or Dayton may relocate for next season.
http://www.vindy.com/news/2009/jan/07/talks-continue-on-minor-league-hockey-for/
The city and Bruce Zoldan, owner of the Phantoms junior hockey team, are talking with the owners of the Wheeling [W. Va.] Nailers, an ECHL franchise, about relocating to Youngstown.
“I’ve had multiple conversations with Wheeling and there’s very strong interest” in coming to Youngstown, Zoldan said.
“I’m cautiously optimistic we’ll have an ECHL team next season,” Mayor Jay Williams said.
There have also been preliminary discussions with the owners of the Dayton Bummers as well as with teams from lower leagues. But the conversations with the Nailers are more serious, Zoldan and Williams said.
Wheeling owners deny report:
http://theintelligencer.net/page/content.detail/id/519212.html?nav=515
Wheeling Nailers co-President Rob Brooks wholeheartedly denied a published report in the Youngstown Vindicator that says he and brother, Jim Brooks, are in negotiations to move the Wheeling Nailers to Youngstown next season.
The Brooks brothers said last month they would have to consider their options if attendance didn't pick up for the first-place team, which it has slightly in recent weeks.
For more on the story, see Thursday's Intelligencer.

| Let the Bummers go and bring in the Coyotes. If a third rate city like Columbus can get an NHL team so can Dayton. Dayton cannery billionaire Milt Cantor that was in talks with the Dallas Mavericks in the early 90s about bringing in the Mavs for Cincinnati (name changed to Spiders) and playing in an arena (Hepadrome) that he would build with his own money would be the man to do it. |

| http://www.daytondailynews.com/s/content/oh/story/sports/pro/2008/12/31/ddn010109spechl.html With Dayton drawing over 3,300 fans a game and being able to keep a team going for 18 years shows that the city can and will support hockey. Its just sad a major league city like Cincinnati can only draw flies to the games. If they team was back at the Gardens and Robinson was in charge youd be getting 4,500-5000 a game. People just do not like going to downtown Cincinnati and the arena is basically got bad vibes from the Who tragedy. |

Hey, richcrich.
You're a troll. Are you DH or 2minutes...? I'll guess 2 minutes. You probably learned how to multiple id/isp from your hero DH.
You're mimicking the same garbage you post on HG.
Go back under your bridge at HGrovel, miserable troll.

have you ever been to a game in dayton? the attendance between dayton and cincy has been debated over and over so i won't go into it....but if you can go to dayton and find the 3300 they say show up then you should keep an eye out for flying pigs on your way home...
i have been to multiple games in dayton over the last 3 years and even on opening night and that 7000+ was more like 4500+. i'm not saying dayton is going anywhere, but i am saying those numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt... |

| First of all, yeah, he's a troll. Secondly, while Dayton is not the only team to juice their numbers, so I'm not scapegoating them as such, but they do it as best as anyone. I've been to 50+ games at the Nutter Center over the years (including many ranging from the 03-04 season to the current one) and have counted three-digit numbers numerous times. When there are decent crowds there, they get juiced through the roof in the 4/5k range. If you noticed, Dayton's attendance in the playoffs two years ago did not look as impressive (weren't some of the Kelly Cup finals games in the 1000s?). That is because teams had to turn in the true turnstile count. It's all fine for the league and the people who buy into, but people who have been there more than a few times and then saw the game sheet know better than to take it literally. Gotta keep the sponsors happy. |

Its clones like him that turn people off that went to games at the Gardens. You have this We won the hockey war, you old Clone/Duck fans cant come into our building. Its like trying to have 1 free Iraq, its never going to happen with the differnt warring fractions that want to act like tyrants. Hrc666 needs his ass kicked and tossed in the penalty box |

If they were back at the Gardens the difference in ticket sales revenue wouldn't be enough to offset the loss in sponsorship revenue. There are more revenue streams available for a team at USBA. |

| Wheelings website is so much nicer then the Cyclones site. Well most ECHL team sites blows ours away but we love our Clones. Some keyboard warriors should offer to help the Cyclones out with a first rate site instead of one that looks like some highschoolers myspace page |

| As far as updates go, the Cyclones web site has always been pretty awful, and that has never changed, which you should know since you're such a long-time fan. As for the actual layout and design, it's up to par with many teams' IMO, the best it has been in a while, at least, compare it to say, the 03-04 web site, that was terrible. |

This message board has HOW MANY PEOPLE posting on it and updating eachother on team info??? Of course it's going to be pretty on time! I'm not saying the Cyclones' site couldn't use some work because we have all said that, but figure it out bud. And if you didn't know that the Cylcones had a website until midseason last year then please go buy this book!

i <3 you cait.....that is a great book FYI....
the url for the cyclones website has been the same since it's creation who knows how many years ago (i think i remember seeing it as far back 2000). it was even up while the team suspended operations, although it only displayed the press release stating that the team was suspending operations. the current website has come light years since the cyclones' return in 2006. back then the echl website had our press releases up for days sometimes before the cyclones' site was updated. |
