| Cyclones take two from Dayton, in Dayton, none the less. Hope they keep winning especially on the Florida/Mississippi swing. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That also means we have won the regular season series' with Dayton three years in a row. It was a great game however I always hate to see Pochmara. It's always one of those call a penalty on one team, call one on the other three minutes later. I think he called a total of about 16 on the night. And for the record I'm saying there were bad calls on both sides ... for example Gordon drawing the elbowing in the second was ridiculous.

You actually clinched it last night if you're going by points instead if actual W-L. Good timing catching the Bombers in their freefall to fifth place. It's been painful to watch.
Lots of games left in the season and only 7 points separate first place from sixth place. Let's hope both teams are fighting it out for the top spot in the beginning of April. |

At least it was Pochmara and not "Slewfoot Suhy" After four games in nine days between the rivals, you knew something was going to explode. The mayhem under Pochmara would have likely gone completely out of control under Nick Suhy. |

| How does McKenzie get punched in the face with a bare fist and there is no call? You could argue that the punch constituted a secondary altercation and given Maslonka a second 5 for fighting and a game misconduct. I figured at the minimum we would come out even strength since we were getting the orginal minor. I guess Weber has a little more control than I would have. I probably would have littered the ice with sticks and waterbottles just like Dennis Derosier. |

Great question. That's Pochmara for ya. I figured he should have just had to go to the locker room for the rest of the game but I may have been thinking extreme ... he gets 0 extra penalties like it never happened, and we continue to be on the penalty kill, all the while it happened right in front of the refs and the benches? Bizarre. As far as Weber, he may not have seen it happen the first time with all of the bodies in front of the benches. Honestly I thought he had just shoved McKenzie down when I first saw it, hadn't realized until after that it was a "Bertuzzi-style" sucker punch. Of course I saw the replay numerous times thanks to Dayton who saw this guy as a hero.
Also give Salekin a lot of credit. Not only has he been lighting the lamp lately, but he has also picked up the physical presence. I don't think he ever sat down from chirping in the penalty box when both team's had theirs, well ... full. |

| I must say that the game on Saturday was downright scary! I really thought someone was going to end up seriously injured! Cincinnati was passing and playing beautifully there and I think it just freaked the Dayton players out and since they can't skate and or pass, they felt the need to play like goons? I am not saying Cincinnati didn't pull a couple quick ones, but to punch a guy square in the face when he is just standing there not doing anything? Come on! It cracked me up that a lady (Dayton fan) actually approached me in the bathroom and told me what a great hit it was McKenzie took. It took all my might to present myself (my team and the Cincinnati fans) well and not cold clock her!!! |

Methinks a Cyclone clocking a Bomber in the same manner at USBA would have elicited the same response from your home crowd during such a heated game. I know Cincinnati fans better than that, having attended a number of games in your town since 1990. That's why we call you the C-r-y-C-l-o-w-n-s. Quit whining - you won the game, Pochmara is clueless and Maslonka was fined. See you Feb 20. Aren't rivalries fun?

here's the difference...for starters JJ still had his gloves on when he clocked riedel and JJ picked up a minor for roughing by doing so. the fact that maslonka punch was gloveless should have resulted in a minimum of a double minor. the reaction from most cinci fans when JJ hit riedel was "wtf is he thinking...that was stupid" not "wow that was awesome" but i guess when you haven't won a game in a month you take what you can get. ironically enough, pochmara was the ref in the game when JJ clocked riedel...

The real hockey fans in Dayton were thinking the same thing (wtf?) about Maslonka's action. But, of course, most of the crowd thought it was awesome, just as most of the Cincy crowd cheered for JJ and thought it was awesome when he clocked Reidel. "Most cinci fans"? There was no "hushed silence" when that happened. Guess we're even now. And it did wake the team up. We finally broke the streak after that game.
A thread about "the worst ref" comes out now instead of after the Dec 20 game? You should be glad it wasn't Suhy. Quit whining. See ya the 20th. |
