I hate to complain after tonight's great win but I have got to wonder why USBA insists on ticking off Cyclones Fans.
My wife and I have been half season ticket holders for the past 3 years and had tickets to tonight's game. - So I rushed home from work (on the bus); - dug my car out of the snow; - struggled until I got the car out of the icy driveway; - drove on snow covered roads to USBA; - paid $10 to park; - bought $20 worth of tickets on the way in for the game on the 21st; - handed my wife a $20 bill to buy us some food and drinks since we didn't have time to eat.
While my wife was getting the food and drinks I went down and sat in my normal seat. I was the only person in our section. A girl from USBA comes down and asks to see my ticket. I assumed she was checking to see if I was in the correct seat so I show her the ticket and she tears it in half. I ask what is going on and she tells me that they will be giving rain checks for unused tickets for tonight's game and she had to rip my ticket so I couldn't get a free ticket. Of course my wife was not there so she never got my wife's ticket.
This left me wondering: - Why does USBA assume I will cheat them out of a ticket? - Since they scanned the ticket when I went in why do they need to rip the ticket? - Since my wife and I were 2 of only 453 people to make it to tonight's game shouldn't they be thinking more about rewarding our loyalty instead of worrying we will cheat them?
Overall the whole thing left me feeling very unappreciated.

| They are in this business for one thing and one thing only $$$$$. I know you are a smart man, but the sooner you realize they only want your money. The less you will feel unappreciated. Just enjoy the hockey pay your ten bucks, and say f#%k the rest. |

A very easy solution would have been to allow everyone in the building a free ticket for a future game. If they're going to give a freebie to someone who doesn't show (me, for instance), then why not just extend that to all ticket holders-present or not. Why that escapes the minds of some in management puzzles me.
The concept of having someone actually rip a ticket in front of a person who has braved the elements to attend the game is almost comical in its ineptitude. Whoever gave the orders to do that is someone who has no concept of customer service and no grasp of the big picture-if all 453 re-used their tickets it's a so what who cares number.
The Cyclones organization has done its job on the ice. It's all Chuck Weber (with Ray Harris' blessings) with this. On some of the other elements of running the operation, they seem to drop the ball upon occassion. I try to focus on the fact that they provide the most important component of the experience-a good team-and the other stuff is mostly detail. Though annoying detail as your experience has shown.

| HRC's point is right....They could afford 500 free tickets. I typically go to these games, (did last week when we had the storm), but couldnt make it tonight. Sometimes I too wonder what my loyalty gets me, hell, my car is a cyclone-driving machine!!! Either way.....CDH is right.....they just want money, like any business, and I dont lose sleep over it...I just love my team....If they turn into the bengals, with a mike brown mantality, then things will change LOL |

i do not understand the rain check idea, if you have a ticket that is not a comp ticket and are not able to go to the game no matter what the reason it can be exchanged for another game is my understanding.
the fact that the usher came down is a totally different matter that needs to be addressed by upper management. things like this no matter how small and trival will accumulate and fester into a larger issue if upper management does not respond and correct the manner things are done. it is not always what is said or done but how it is said and done.
i for one do not like to not follow the chain of command when issues arise but maybe if you feel that responces to issues are not being addressed then an e-mail to ray harris may be the next step. |

| Their ticket scanners were not working that night....so, if they missed some ticket...that probably gave them a bad count for the night....as for letting people exchange their unused tickets for future game....well, that should be fine. I do understand its bad business how they approached you and said they are tearing your ticket so you don't change it in on them later...now that was tacky approach. |
