Although I'm new to the site, I have been watching the 'clones since '97 and I have to say that the worst referee I have seen over these years is Barry Pochmara. There is a laundry list of things of why he is terrible, but the no-call cheap shot on McKenzie over last weekend in Dayton is the latest.
I was at the radio show on Monday and when I heard Chuck Weber joke about the ECHL being a development league for refs I wondered how many years do you need to development before you realize you're just not very good at the job? I've seen him ref in the old IHL and I thought he was bad back then, too.
Any thoughts on this or who you consider to be the worst ref you've seen over the years? |

| Barry ranks right up there. In my opinion, St.Pierre was always the worst one. But he's in the NHL now, so what do I know. |

Earnst was freaking GOD AWFUL!!!
And he was one of the worst at making MAKE UP CALLS! If he felt that he might have made a bad one...there was always another BAD one to follow it. |

| I haven't forgotten. He would definately be #2 right behind St.Pierre. St. Pierre simply hated Cincinnati. Joe made stuff up. Phantom penalties. Punkmara tries to make sure it's 1 for you, 1 for you, back and forth. Darling Nicky, is getting better I hate to say. It's harder to talk him into penalties than it was. But he still loses control of the game at times. |

I remember Martin! I could never decide which ref I disliked more: he or Leggo.
But Leggo is in the NHL I believe now too. |

I'm with you on this. I always thought St. Peeair was awful.
By and large, I think that the officiating quality in the league is fine. I can't think of one ref offhand who I think is that bad.
The linesmen seem fairly decent as well. |

I was watching a Preds game the
other night and they said Pochmara was one
of the Refs. I was like Berry? NO Fing way
and I was right it was his brother  . I said I Knew
it couldn't have been Barry B/C he flat out sucks. |

"By and large" you may be right but Suhy is bad and Pochmara is ridiculously bad. |
