this next week is huge for us in the standings. 6 games in 9 days all in the division. we're in !st now but 2nd and 3rd have 2 games in hand on us and trail by i and 3 pys respectively. elmira trails by 4 points and has 1 game in hand. of the 6 games we have coming up 4 are against teams that are currently out of the playoffs (dayton and reading). we can't afford to have an off night and give up points to these teams. taking both games from elmira next weekend should place them squarely in the rearview mirror,....
but first things first...let's take care of dayton one more time..... |

| Hopefully Johnstown put Gawjewki in goal and that will eliminate them from 1st place. |

Wheeling is something on the order of 3-17 in their past twenty. Dayton hasn't played above .500 for any significant stretch of games since early in the season.
We have won 17 of our past 23.
Trenton and Elmira have been playing well for a while.
I'll call the divisional playoff spots going to: Cincinnati, Trenton, Elmira and Johnstown. |

Juice could make them competitive. With Reading |

I vote for them to lose. |

I don't think that one really has to root for Wheeling to lose. They're doing quite well all on their own. They are 3-16 in their past 19. The bottom has fallen out on them.
Dayton is a stellar 1-12 in their last 13 against teams not from Wheeling and Reading. Cooked as a goose, those bummers are Seriously, that team has got to be absolutely disgusted with themselves for getting swept by a team with as diminished a roster as the Cyclones now have.
With 65 points, the Cyclones won't need more than 77-78 points to clinch a playoff berth. It's probably closer to 75. We are 14-4 in over our last 18 games. So, if my guess at the maximum number of points that we'll need is accurate, then we'll need only 13 points in 18 games which equates to a winning percentage of roughly 35% (6-11-1). If the 75 figure is the one, then we'll need to go 5-13 (28%) to get in.
It's all over but the shouting. We will have an opportunity to defend The Kelly Cup Championship.

| I hadn't realized that Reading is not only in the division cellar but have the worst record in the entire league. In fact, they're 13 points behind the next worst, Bakersfield and Phoenix. |
