Johnstown, with their backs against the wall, have suddenly gotten A LOT better with the return of two of their top scorers... http://www.echl.com/cgi-bin/mpublic.cgi?action=show_news&cat=1&id=18382
I still think we can take all three games but the addition of Rowe and Del Monte will fire them up rather than allow them to roll over and die. Should be a great three games! |

| And not to mention Mayotte has returned as well. He was the top goaltender in the league for at least a while early on, and was the only reason the Chiefs were even in the the game Saturday night. |

Who cares. We'll destroy them anyways, and you never know.
We may get some helpful returns as well :) |

Johnstown got their guys back from Lake Erie (AHL) as soon as the Monsters were eliminated from the playoff hunt. Our AHL affiliates are solidly in the playoffs so those guys won't be back (at least not in time for these three games).
Rank and McDonald may or may not be back from Portland (who I think are still mathematically alive) but not for this series and in any case they are not game breakers like Rowe and Del Monte can be. |

Garlock may also be returned from the AHL for Johnstown. He, along with Rowe, are huge contributors at the ECHL level.
Reading's victory over the Chiefs on Sunday was a huge bonus for us. We only have to win 1 of 3 to gain a playoff berth. 1 of 3 is a world of difference from 2 of 3. |

| My guess is that Rank and Mac will be back but even though they are moderate on the O they bring the all important veteran pressence in the locker room Mac has been here before so he Ehgo, TJ, and Syro should be a good solid veteran core for the playoff run. Portland is probably not going to make it since they really went down hill quick |

| Technically the former CMD franchise is now the Rockford IceHogs and Anahiem's affiliate is now the Iowa Chops. Portland is Buffalo's AHL affiliate now. |

Speaking of Johnstown, if you go to their web-site there is a message from Neil Smith. This doesn't sound good.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

After reading the editorials in the paper it sounds like they have a real mess on their hands in Johnstown. Nothing in the editorials does it say anything about moving the team... it says the county sponsored a study to determine who could best run the Cambria County War Memorial Arena and the answer came up as anyone but the current management. So the current management ignored the study and wants to stay in charge, giving up the Chiefs in the process.
The only way an ECHL team is going to keep itself afloat in this day and age is to own the arena (or vice-versa) or draw 5000+ a night. If the Chiefs can't stay in Johnstown I can't see them moving unless they get a very attractive lease (ownership) deal on an arena. I hope for the fans (ours and theirs) and the league they can work something out. |
