On a history making night like this. We get some idiot who all he wants to do is spew his hate and lies. I actually am starting to feel sorry for this guy. Maybe someone should reach out to him, and become his friend. Anyways ignore the idiot, and lets celeberate Cincinnati Hockey. Our beloved Cyclones are the fist team since Trenton did it about 7 years ago to win back to back Division Championship. Congratulations are in store for the coaching staff, and players. Way to go CYCLONES!

^ This is coming from the guy who sent Pete Robinson a letter when the Railraiders thing didn't work out saying that it was like Christmas, New Year's and 4th of July all rolled into one. Perfect example of a Cyclones fan.

Guys. Pay this Best Buy camera salesman no heed. And that's what he is. He knows nothing about hockey nor the operations and ticketing philosophy of the Cyclone organization.

Tonight's walk up was at least 4,500. I talked to one of the ticket office workers when I was buying my playoff tickets. He said he sold 600+ himself. There were 7 or 8 lines. Do the math. People were waiting in line until the first intermission.

The Cyclones don't comp tickets freely. Sponsors, players, and employees. Don't believe me? Ask your ticket rep if they could get 10 comps for themselves for a game.

I had a long talk with Kristen Ropp-the GM of USBA (whose name is on the Kelly Cup, btw; Weber never misses a beat!)at the dinner on Thursday. We talked about the new business philosophy of the team at some length. The Cyclones decided to reject the papering of crowds when they came back into business. Papering=comps. When they dropped to $10, they became iron-fisted about maintaining their pricing integrity.

What they've done is re-establish a real value for tickets in Cincinnati. You go to the game. You pay 10 bucks. The value of a hockey ticket had been reduced to basically zero by the time the Ducks folded. The Ducks gave away tons of tickets. We all know that. The Cyclones do not. Used to. And like the Ducks, it sent them into oblivion.

Tonite's attendance looked like they gave the turnstile count. I think that they actually sold more than the announced 11,417. The lower bowl seats right at 7000 and there are 40 upper sections and I'm sure they had at least 125 in each. That would be 5000. I'd put the total tickets sold at over 12,000.

As far as the lack of interest of some, that happens with big crowds. Many of these people don't know the game, identify with any of the players, etc. They help pay the bills and God Bless them for that.

Again, don't let a memeber of the geek squad rain on our parade. We had a legitimate paid crowd of over 11,000. And we're going to pass the Ducks in lifetime playoff games (8 years vs. not fully 3) on Friday.

Get a life 2minnows.

I guess you are too dumb to realize something. Let me spell this out for you. I have never wrote a letter to Pete Robinson, never spoke to anyone at the Gardens or let alone set foot in the Gardens since at least 2003. Tell me which Best Buy you work at I will come there to clarify things because you have me confused with someone else. I will bring any and all identification to help you in this matter. I know you can't be too intelligent if you have a career at Best Buy so I will make it very easy for you. I DO NOT KNOW ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE GARDENS OR THE CINCINNATI CYCLONES. I AM JUST A FAN!

Let's do a little math here.

There are 3 ticket reps, so 3 x 600 = 1800.

8,000 comped (or papered, as you say it) tickets = 9,800

+ a few hundred walk up and season ticket sales = 11,414

Thanks for helping me prove my point, hrc666.

Oh, and this thread prior to its highjacking by the village idiot was about winning the Northern Division. How about that?

The Clones went 5-1 to finish the season. To call it pressurized would be minimizing it. The team is coming together at the right time. The roster changes have made this team all the more solid. Nie keeps making me look like an idiot for favoring Loic. LOL.

Petit does look pretty good. Great speed and has some craftiness with the puck. Faulker gives us a bit of a veteran presence which we needed more of. I'm sure it was tough to part with Gordon, but quality requires the same in trade. Gerald Miller looked pretty good tonight. If he continues to improve and becomes anywhere near what he was when he was here last season, that will be enhance our chances of going deep in the post season.

The penalty kill has improved immensely of late. We've got very solid goaltending and the return of Kilpatrick is enormous. That goal he scored in the 3rd period was a goal scorer's goal pure and simple. He gives us a high octane scorer-something that we needed.

Can't wait until Thursday. It's going to be a great 4 game series.

Much like the Chiefs, you were owned. Now, keep on attempting to hijack the thread whilst being ignored by I.

You're looking dumber than usual. That's quite a feat. Ticket reps aren't the ones selling tickets at the box office. Your ignorance is astounding. 7 or 8 ticket salesman x 600=4200 to 4800. The guy told me he sold more than 600. It's conceivable that the walk up was upwards of 5,000. The other tickets were sold in the days and weeks and months proceeding the game.

You have no basis for what you are saying and you can't even do simple math. Go sell a useless extended warranty on a $75 printer.

Clown.

Oh, and when you make a claim, you ought to be able to substantiate it. You have 2 (at least) outstanding: 1)your div 1 hockey stats.
2) Which companies comped the 8000? I'll bet your $8000 (a buck per "comp" that you are lying (again). Let's do it. Cash to a third agreeable 3rd party by Tuesday.

C'mon. Let's see what you're made of.

WOW...just WOW!! What an amazing performance tonight. A COMPLETE GAME. Everyone did their job and never took a second off. The crowd was great to see as well. Not the loudest crowd I have ever seen, but noise doesn't pay the bills. The only thing comp'd is TMWWI's subscription to this site. The line to buy tickets was all the way to the wall. Even tho I hate the wave at hockey games, it was pretty cool seeing everyone get into it.

I went to GameDay afterwards. It was nice meeting some of the players for the first time. I also met Nie's parents. Funny, he told me he has been called "the science guy" since he was 5. LOL Again, AWESOME NIGHT!!

Oh, by the way...TWO MINUTES FOR SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

Go Clones!

Goclones is correct

I brought 53 myself, and with the exception of a few that got my unused season tickets (which were paid for anyway), EVERYONE in the group paid. The Cyclones don't "Comp" group tickets. This is the fourth group I took this year, and did more than this last year. Not one ticket of all those were comped.

Geez, quit whining and go back to the Gardens...

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

Your Two Minutes are up-go rain on someone else's parade.
What a great game last night.Nie should have been wearing a Superman cape because
he could have stopped speeding bullets . Third period Friday you could see Nie
get back in sync and last night he was unbelievable.Hats off to Johnstown's goalie
also.We were skating on a level that would probably beat half the AHL teams last
night. This had to be the 2nd best game ever seen at USB Arena.Last year's final was
number 1.Like in that game,we weathered the early storm and then kicked it in.The
part I never would have guessed is beating Johnstown ALL 4 GAMES ! If we need to find
a name for coach Weber, "THE WIZARD" comes to mind.Anyone who can take Justin Johnson
and turn him into a legit forward who fights only when needed must have magic power.
The crowd was unbelievable. If that game doesn't give the Newbies a reason to come
back, they must be zombies.Only one complaint on the night-concessions for food was
useless in trying to get.Plenty of beer carts, but people even found the ice cream
cart for pop and water.
Cincinnati ..11,417(4-4-09).. 111,750..(total for year) 36(games) 3,104 AVERAGE

that's how you end a season and create momentum for the playoffs...

every line created it's own chances. the new guys are fitting in very well. petit chipping in with a goal and an assist, and dias notching his first is going to give these guys confidence. and i'm going to through this out there as well, even though chico didn't show up big on the score sheet he played one of his best games of the season in my opinion moving his feet and using that size to create space for everyone else (his assist on the van guilder goal was case in point).

things seem to be coming together quit well. 4 straight wins to end johnstowns season for the second straight year...gotta love that. not to mention 4 straight over mayotte, who was an all-star goalie....

we need 16 more just like saturday night.....

"PBR can do that to you....1,2,3,12 beers and you're f**ked"

"and i don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation" - joan jett

"beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy." - benjamin franklin

"is that a pulled pork sandwich i smell?"

"some things are just better without pants...."

I actually feel bad for Mayotte...he made spome great saves and most of the goals were due to him having NO HELP up front. All 3 lines had the johnstown defense running in circles creating massive spaces in front and no prayer for Mayotte. Poor guy.
