Puhalski must have really spent some quality practice time on defense. Most of the season they just seem to be willing to give the opposition the blue line.
Don't get too worried about Darling playing great. I really thought him playing Game 1 was a lose-lose situation for Wheeling. If he got blown out as I expected, Wheeling's already in a big hole. If he played well and won, as he did, Puhalski will put some blind faith in him, and he'll likely have at least one horrible game (likely more) that could cripple the Nailers.
Good luck to both teams, and I hope to see some of you in Wheeling tomorrow night for Game 3. |

I agree with bags ... I would have liked to have heard a lot more advertising for tomorrow's game as well. As hrc666 mentioned, last night's crowd was the biggest of all the weeknight crowds this season. I thought it may have looked more like 2500 with how jam packed my side was, but oh well. Still a very nice weeknight crowd, so advertise the hell out off the $1 pizza tomorrow. Not just Wildman's token "come back tomorrow, bring ten friends" announcement at the end when a lot of people have already found their way out of the building.
Not much to add on the game that hasn't already been said. How on Earth could Van Guilder take that holding penalty IN Wheeling's zone right after the goal to cut it to a one-goal lead, with 5 minutes left to tie it up. Hopefully it's a different game tonight, and another great crowd. |

as several have said it's hard to find too much wrong with the game last night. it was a case study in the way wheeling likes to play; they like to go forward and if we turn the puck over anywhere in the neutral zone it turns into a wheeling odd man rush really quick. sure we had a lot of shots that hit darling sqaure in the chest, but we also had a lot of quality chances that we either put wide or darling made great saves on. we'll get our own odd man rushes because wheelings d-men do play aggressively and pinch quite a bit but simple dump and chase hockey is the way to go; it will limit neutral zone turnovers and allow us to set up our own forecheck both of which will put a damper on wheelings transistion game which is what their offense is based on...
we all know the officiating in the echl is a crap shoot at best, but last night was a joke in how one sided it was. i mean, if you're going to ref a crappy game at least call a ****ty game each way. that being said, rumor has it that we get sullivan tonite so we can expect more of the same.... |

Well, if you're speaking of Joe Sullivan, the last time he officiated a Nailers game, Darling was ready to physically attack him after he made a horrible call in a shootout against Elmira. I'm sure he doesn't have a soft spot for Wheeling |

Glad to be here. It's nice to see what a dedicated bunch of fans there are on this board. I've been reading for awhile, so I figured I'd go ahead and register. |

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
