The way the Cyclones pulled out that win has to crush Wheeling.
Let's put this playoff series to rest Saturday! |

| All I got to say is: Let's make sure we give the Cyclones the home ice advantage. Let's go nuts tomorrow! |

"Road ice advantage" (with a little help from the rally monkey) strikes again!
Had a good time at Slugger's despite the "service" (I won't go into it unless someone asks). Simply outstanding that this team after going in hole 0-2 right off the bat, were able to keep this road warrior status by sweeping the road series and now wind up 3-2. I really hope they can finish it at home tomorrow. |

Great wins the last 3 games. I really thought after last Friday that I would not be seeing hockey til October. I was not doubting the team just how we played and Darling was playing in goal. But here we are going into game 6, lets put that final nail into Wheeling coffin. :)
This was joked about at game 5 at Sluggers..Could the team meet at Sports Plus have the bus pick them up, drive them around the city and drop them off at the arena tomorrow evening. So we can get that 4th road win.

This team has so much character it's ridiculous.
They could have easily been frustrated about Darling's performance through the first two periods. Wheeling should not have had the lead.
Qusnele's goal was flat out lucky. A redirect by a skate. The last goal was a thing of beauty. What a move by Eghoetz!! Lacasse zipped one to Syro who fed Eghoetz who did his thing. The forechecking in the Nailer's zone in the last 2 minutes was nothing short of first rate. Santorelli clogged em up good. Wheeling was put on their heels by our vigorous forecheck and then had a fatal breakdown in coverage when they allowed Eghoetz to make his move.
What this team has just accomplished is no mean feat. Winning 3 games in Wheeling and limited them to 7 goals is just about as impressive as it gets. I am watching a team which has its fair share of talent, but it's discipline, heart and character outweigh its talent.
Weber's level headedness and preperation is unreal. He is able to work though difficult situations (down 2 games and going to play 3 on the road) and have his team keep its focus and make adjustments
Now if he'll only put Petit on with Sproat and Kilpatrick, this team looks very formidable. Kilpatrick and Van Guilder have not been contributing all that much in the way of scoring and if they get untracked, then opponents watch out. Van Guilder has been contributing with great hustle, defense and PKing-his shot just can't hit the broad side of a barn of late.
Our defense and goaltending has really come into its own. MacDonald is a huge addition. If our top two lines can produce and the defense/goaltending performs as it has versus the Nailers then Elmira will be looking at golf after our series. Yes, I'm projecting the outcome of these two series, but I find it hard to fathom Wheeling beating us twice in a row.

Words can't express how pumped I am for this game tonight. Had they lost last night, I would have been dreading it. Hopefully we'll get another great crowd tonight: 1) Weather will be pretty much perfect, 2) Saturday nights always draw well, 3) Reds are out of town, 4) It could be the series clincher. I'd expect a pretty healthy walk-up. GO CLONES!!!

sometimes it's better to be lucky than good i guess??? but i agree barret's goal was nice. and it was good to see him get one. he seems to be a bit snake bitten as of late so that goal could prove to be huge for both him and the team should they move on (in the playoffs)
and as far as Van Guilder and Co. & the lack in point production...it was noticeable in games 1 and 2,but in games 3-5 other people stepped up and that in my opinion is what the playoffs are all about..the unlikely "hero." hopefully it continues tonight!!! |

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
