GREAT! I love the ECHL I swear.
I was just down at the arena and got done talking to a few of the Elmira guys standing outside. Sucks I have to hate these guys while they are on the ice because they were all super cool. Even Sgroi is pretty cool except for the fact that he wasn't wearing a shirt. |

I'll try to read a little into Sweeney's assignment.
Sweeney was a whisle-happy clown in game 6 vs. Wheeling. He no doubt was reviewed by his supervisors and instructed as to how to better call that kind of game.
The league is a developmental league for officials as well as players. So, Sweeney is likely being tested to see how he responds in a setting where he failed miserably very recently. It's going to be an interesting test. A lot of how he should call the game will depend on the type of game tonight's is. If it's out of control tonight, then he'll probably be tooting his whistle early and often on Saturday.
Hopefully he'll adjust from his performance of last week.

I was telling my wife the same thing tonight about Sgroi lol
he is cool as hell off the ice but a freaking nutt case on it. I seen him last time they were in town over in Covington KY. He came in the place where we was eating and I ask him if he was going to take it easy on Our team tonight and he laughed and said Yea b/c I'm trying to get called up to the "A" then I ask if I could get a pic with him and one of him with my kids and he was super cool and said No problem. I said I didn't want to bother him while he was eating and he said its' cool my foods not done yet.amd we talked another good 15 min's about hockey and other things LOL |

Honestly I don't think there is another group of athletes that are as approachable and as friendly to the common fan as hockey players, regardless of the team. As much as you can hate them on the ice you have to respect them and the game they play.
Back to the officials...Sweeney may work to our advantage tonight. Elmira is going to try to make a statement tonight and the only way I have ever seen Elmira do that is by gooning it up. If Sweeney is calling everything like he has before we are going to spend a lot of time on the PP.
I don't know who I'm trying to kid; he's gonna suck tonight too. Just a little consistancy is all i'm asking .... please!

Thanks for the info. If this nutjob did this to a ref, what could he do to his opponents that may have taken a cheap shot at him? I recommend him playing for the Bengals but I don't want him in hockey ever again. |

Was reading on the comments left on the South Carolina Stingrays blog http://www.postandcourier.com/blogs/stingrays/ that they are having the same issues with Sweeney during their playoff games.
Also, apparently the guy that is the crazy fan from Florida (supposedly an ambulance-chasing lawyer) makes a nuisance of himself to the Stingrays fans on the blog comments. Remember this is apparently the guy that has season tickets down by the opposing teams penalty box and was supposedly yelling racial slurs at JJ while he was in the box, then slipped him $100. ?? I think that guy is a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket... |

You know, I'm rooting for the Stingrays. They were the only team in last year's playoffs that didn't piss me off. If we don't win the cup, here's to hoping they do.
That said, if we win this series and they win theirs, I hope we beat them. |

I'm rooting for the Stingrays too. We had a blast down there last year during playoffs. Their fans are cool and super nice. I hope we get to go down there again this year.

No doubt! Their fans are the nicest of any opposing team I have encountered. Their pre-game tail-gate was awesome. Hope to go back and hob-nob with the guy running the grill. He turned us on to the jello shots. |
