| With the last second misconduct given to Sgroi, does that come with an automatic 1 game suspension? it'd be nice to enjoy a game without his antics |

| i dont think it does. Just like in the end of the season with chico. He did not get the 1 game suspension for his misconduct. |

I don't know for sure, but when Starling got into a fight with Rawlyk last year at the end of game 1 of the Conf. Finals vs. SC, he was suspended for the next game.
Since Sgroi's stuff happened in the last 5 minutes of the game AND he has quite a history of over-the-top behavior, if it can result in a suspension, then it probably will. Syro didn't have any major history (maybe none at all) with suspensions, and that MAY have played a role in him not getting sat down for a game. |

That's what i was basing it off of. Starling got his 1 game suspension for the last minute game misconduct. Oh well, time will tell

the rules on fighting deliberately cover a very wide range of situations. i think the 2 that come into play here are the instigator and aggressor rules. in the starling case he was assessed 2min for instigating and 5 for fighting. when this happens in the last 5mins of a period or at any time during overtime the player is also give a 10 minute game misconduct and an automatic 1 game suspension as per rule 47.21.
sgroi's misconduct was not for fighting but for abuse of officials (rule 40.4). there is no suspension that can find associated with this rule. rule 40.4 deals primarily with verbal abuse and is just a 10 minute penalty. if he had been penalized under rule 40.5, which deals with continued abuse/arguing or contact with an official, the penalty would have been a game misconduct and a suspension could have been assessed if the referee deemed it appropriate.... |

Everyone should read the rulebook.
My coach one season made us read it. It did cut down on the amount of complaining. |
