While Weber's name is not mentioned in the article, it would seem only fitting that he will be meeting with the Montreal brass to discuss the Hamilton job.
Weber would have to at least have a courtesy interview from Montreal. Once he gets in front of these guys, it may be very difficult for them not to offer him the job. He is the complete package-with the exception of his language skills. His inability to speak French could put a kabosh on his prospects within the organization if they decide that fluent French is a requirement.
I'm sure that if this were mentioned, Weber would quickly point out his ability to successfully coach French-Canadien players. DD, Ceddy, TB, Latendresse, JM and Loic Lacasse seem to have developed quite well under his guidance despite Weber's language limitations.
Maybe he's taking a crash course at Berlitz (sp?). LOL

| Its certainly possible and as we all know, he would be an asset to the team. I would be sad to see him go, but we cant expect a coach like him not to move up eventually. |

Good luck to Mr. Weber. It will be good news for the rest of the league if he moves up the ranks. Is Glenn Patrick still available? |

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but Weber will not be coaching the Hamilton Bulldogs, nor any other AHL team next season. He is employed by the Cincinnati Cyclones, not the Montreal Canadiens.
Three other AHL teams have recently filled Head Coaching vacancies (Lake Erie, Abbotsford, Texas) without interviewing, or even contacting Weber as a candidate.
You can all relax and breathe a little easier, he will be back with the Cyclones in '09-'10, as he is not currently on any AHL team's radar for a Head Coaching position. |

I beg to differ (what a shock) with you HT on your point. The tradition of the Cyclones has been to never stand in the way of advancement. If we can loan star players out to AHL teams when we are shorthanded or fighting for a playoff spot,I can't see the team standing in the way of an AHL or NHL spot if offered to Weber.I believe he has turned down assistant AHL jobs so he can "hone" his coaching talents as the head coach in the ECHL.If the Hamilton job is really open,I would be shocked if Weber hasn't been contacted about it.My hope is if he does move up,Coach Stork will get the same chance to be the head boss here and see if later he can move up.These words and $12 will get you a ticket to the best hockey in town ! |

| I seriously doubt he would leave right now. He will be the coach for next season, however, there are no guarantees after that. Either way, advancement for him is a GOOD thing and Stork would carry on the torch and I'm happy with that. |

| Got a chance to talk to Chuck very briefly a few days ago, before this was announced, and he seems set on staying here for at least 1 more season. |

| I agree that the Cyclones wouldn't hold Chuck back. But my point was that he isn't on any AHL team's list of candidates right now, and that the Cyclones' affiliation with Montreal and Hamilton has nothing to do with his chances of advancement in that organization. There was no "courtesy" interview. That's not to say he hasn't done a great job here for the last 3 years. But there won't be any AHL teams calling him this summer. |
