Well I guess this post deserves an intro since it's my first one here...

I've been a fan of the Cyclones ever since they first came to Cinci and witnessing them win the Kelly Cup in 2008 was really something special. I quickly found out that there aren't many places on the internet where I can share my cyclones fandom with others so that brings me here I suppose.

Anyways, to get back on topic, my brother and I share clone fever (and we both really just love hockey) and have a hobby of collecting sports memorabilia of all sorts. We thought it would be cool to create custom hockey figures of our favorite players from the 2007-2008 season and I took the liberty to actually sit down and do it this summer.

The end result was really neat, actually much better than expected and just wanted to share this with all you clone fans out there.

I made a Desharnais for myself and a Daoust for my brother.

Pictures of Daoust can be found here:

Are you going to be selling these and make a buisness?

I dunno. I've thought about it. I used tons of trademarked logos in the creation of the figures so I don't think it would exactly be legal...

Next in line is Desjardins, a retro-styled Gilbert Dionne, and hopefully a Cincinnati Swords player who is yet to be determined.

I am of course open to making other figures, I just wanted to make the rounds with as much Cincinnati themed hockey players as I could muster.

There's quite a bit of time and a great amount of craftsmanship involved with these figures. They are completely repainted and the decals are high quality (they aren't stickers ).

Looks perfectly accurate except for the helmet. Unless they rarely said Cincinnati on them.

This is what US Bank arena should give away instead of bobbleheads

Here's the Desharnais figure. He has a more compact stance than the Daoust figure which I like a lot but navigating the clothing folds sure was a challenge.

More pics of him at the blog.

I just looked at the Kelly Cup program they sold last year... everyone had that Cincinnati script on the helmet.

Would you be able to make a Starling with the captain patch for $60-$70???

Email should now be working! There was a bug in the new Forum software.

I am interested also, however, you should also try the idea of selling personalized figures, like if I wanted my name on the back of one. Seems to be a big thing with NFL jerseys and all....not sure how much you'd charge for that, but again, I'd like to get ahold of one of these also.

I make most of the decals from scratch using Photoshop so personalization isn't an issue. If you're interested you can reach me at synzencustoms@hotmail.com
