This is a note from Sherry in regards to a road trip. I would have put this in the Fan Club section but thought more people would see it here:
I have been contacted by the Wheeling Nailers & they are offering a terrific deal. As long as we have at least 12 we can get tickets for $5.50. I know it is early but they have requested an answer no later than 9/1. Please let me know if you want to be part of this group no later than 8/16. Thank you & enjoy the rest of your summer! Sherry

| Well I would need a little more info sweetie. When would this trip occur? As many of you know, I am working for the Blue Jackets now and my schedule is pretty tight. Other than that I would love to go back to Wheeling. |

| as long as we arent treated like s**t again, maybe but can we sit with some fans who have...class? no offence to the wheeling fan base but during the playoffs we were treated like crap and that made me never want to return to wheeling...gonna have to regain some trust first |

That was a very small part of the Wheeling crowd to base an opinion on, and some of the Cyclones fans weren't exactly innocent victims. I sat in the section behind the fan club for Game 3 in the playoffs, and the Wheeling "fans" I saw causing problems weren't even people I recognized from other games.
Overall, most people are very respectful to visiting fans. And with it being a regular season game, emotions shouldn't be running high or anything.
I hope you get enough people to go, and would be glad to meet some of those who I haven't yet. Hell, let me know where you're sitting and I'll try to sit somewhere close. I like to believe I'm easy to get along with.

Every arena in the league has some sort of horror story from someone. It's obvious you're dead set against going to Wheeling, and that's fine.
I was there and saw a lot of what took place. Security could have thrown some people out before things got out of hand and all would have been fine, but it escelated for sure. Similar instances have happened at every pro sports arena in the country, including yours.
As I said, that is not an accurate sampling of what to expect on a normal night at Wesbanco. Going there expecting a repeat would make for a miserable trip for you anyway, so please do stay home. |

| woodrow ive been to wheeling several times and i do enjoy going to theyre arena, ive made friends at games in wheeling, but i do know beer was a big factor...i agree, the people i saw harassing the team, they were drunk, but the guy shoving a cyclones fan trying to go get out of the isle to use the restroom, and then threatening to kick her @$$, they were just being rude. i do plan on returning to wheeling...i just dont know when |

I'm totally in. I'm always up for going to Wheeling... I was there on the infamous day in question. At the time it was kind of weird, but I mean, who hasn't been to an arena at some time or another when stuff like that happens? I'm almost more worried about going to Toledo after hearing some of those horror stories... LOL
And yes, we play Wheeling on Saturday night too, BUT it's our home opener at US Bank Arena. I believe there's a tailgate being somewhat planned for that day? I've got the moonshine getting ready... |

| Yea thats an away weekend for the Jackets, so I should be able to go. As far as all this drama is concerned, I myself have never really experienced it, except for maybe when I was in Trenton, but it was a mild case. I think what happened in Wheeling last year was obviously due to emotions being high and alcohol. Anytime you are a visitor in an opponent's "house," you have to expect there to be some tension or for certain individuals to try and mess with you. You just have to ignore it. Ignorance breeds ignorance. |

Just like our playoff home game with Las Vegas and the super balls, a few Johnny-Come-Lately fans will spoil the setting for everyone. The one road trip we made to Wheeling was a great night and the fans were no problem. My secret to road games and even home games with opposing fans is simple- take a few minutes between periods and talk friendly and joke with the fans. On the other hand if the fans are $%#-holes-STAY AWAY from them. Maybe Jesus will make the trip again. That was classic seeing him in the upper seats ! |

| doht I HAVE to work that day, but am off for the home opener. That is a great price. Good for Wheeling to reach out, and try to bring in more fans. |
