Milwaukee, WI–The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that they have signed forwards Bryan Leitch, Mike McLean, and Mark Van Guilder and defensemen Reid Cashman and Jason Jozsa to two-way AHL/ECHL contracts.

Van Guilder is the lone member of the quintet to have previous experience with the Admirals, having skated in five games for Milwaukee last season. The Roseville, MN native spent the majority of 2008-09 with the Cincinnati Cylones, where he led the team in scoring with 70 points (26g-44a) in 65 regular season games and seven points (3g-4a) in 15 playoff contests. Van Guilder also played three games with the Hamilton Bulldogs last year.

Jozsa played last season with the Grand Rapids Griffins where he collected a goal and six assists in 50 games during the regular season and five assists in ten post-season frays. The Colorado College alum has played in 82 career AHL contests with the Griffins, Quad City Flames and Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, and helped the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL) reach the Kelly Cup Finals in the 2007-08 campaign.

Leitch begins his first professional season after leading the NCAA in both scoring (59) and assists (47) at Quinnipiac University in 2008-09. In four years at Quinnipiac he collected 53 goals and 116 assists for 169 points in 157 career games. McLean split time last season between the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) and the Dayton Bombers (ECHL). He notched 46 points (17g-29a) in 47 games for the Bombers, while posting four goals and eight assists in 25 contests for Lake Erie. Cashman also divided his time between the ECHL and AHL last year, recording 29 points (7g-22a) in 33 games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and six points (2g-4a) with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL).

The Admirals will kick off the 2009-10 season on Saturday, October 3rd in Chicago and have their home opener set for Saturday, October 24th against Manitoba at the Bradley Center. Season tickets for the Admirals 2009-10 season are on sale now for as little as $145. For more information or to order season tickets, fans should call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550. Just thinking positively, I am pretty sure we'll see him for at least a portion of the season.

I may be wrong but I believe this is the first time Milwaukee has offered two-way AHL/ECHL contracts. Any of the five would certainly help us out, even if for a few games here and there.

Congratulations to Mark Van Guilder, while we'd like to see you back, lets hope you stay there!

Wonder if Hamilton is planning a similar situation.

MacLean, Cashman and Jozsa would all be worthwhile additions to the Cyclones. It would appear that the Milwaukee affiliation will be a positive for us this season.

Unless they send us Santorelli, of course.

All 5 of these players will be in Cincinnati at least for some of the season because Nashville does alot of sending players down to the A so having 5 players on two way deals may mean we see more transactions from Milwaukee maybe then Hamilton because they keep the rights and just send them up and down as situations are called for

Cashman was MVP of game 5 of the Nailers/Cyclones series, pretty much being responsible for both Cincinnati goals. Nice to see he might be around to help your guys again.

You could be right about this. It would appear that the two-way contracts between the AHL and ECHL could save Milwaukee a fair amount of money.

It may also be that this is the first time that Milw. is defining the details of player contracts publicly.
