CINCINNATI, Ohio The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHLs Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon they have 17 players attending American Hockey League (AHL) training camps. The Cyclones currently have 22 players under contract for the upcoming season.

The Milwaukee Admirals (AAA affiliate of the Nashville Predators) will have six of their ECHL affiliates players in camp, as forwards Barret Ehgoetz, Adam Krug, Chris Mueller and Matt Pierce join defensemen Brock Sheahan and Jason Woll. The Admirals were the West Division champions in the AHL last season.

The Hamilton Bulldogs (AAA affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will feature five Cyclones players in camp, as forwards Sam Bloom, Kenton Dulle, Felix Petit and Brett Robinson go with defenseman Brian OHanley to tryouts. The Bulldogs were the runners-up in the North Division a year ago.

The Portland Pirates will have forward Mark Voakes and defenseman Doug Krantz, while forward Dustin Sproat will try to make a mark with Binghamton. Jimmy Kilpatrick (Houston) and Hans Benson (San Antonio) are the other forwards going to AHL camps, while Kevin Roeder (Syracuse) is the other defenseman hoping to make a team.

The 17 players going to AHL camp are the most the Cyclones have ever sent. Ironically, last season Cincinnati had 17 players recalled to the American Hockey Leagueincluding a staggering 13 simultaneously in late February.

We are very pleased to be in a position to send this many players to AHL camps, Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. We have always wanted to have players that are on the edge of playing at that level here. This is their chance to leave an impression with the people at that level. We wish these guys the best of luck at their camps and will welcome them here if they are sent to us.

Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones open the season at Elmira on Friday, October 16 and after three road games, host their home opener at U.S. Bank Arena against Wheeling on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. There will be a special divisional championship banner raising ceremony prior to that game.

welcome to minor league sports in general. at least this year all the players that have signed are the echl property of the clone's and if they do not make the "a" then they will come here. this is a great way to bring the players into camp in shape by having them go to the "a" camps as well as giving them a look at the next level.

wish them all the luck but will welcome them back with open arms for the 09/10 echl season.

go cyclones!!!!!!!!!!!
