I am hoping for 5,000, but think that the number will be lower. Tickets are still available in the middle sections low.

I'll guess 4,200.

I'm like you, my guess is a REAL 3800-not the 4001 Wheeling claimed
last night. It wouldn't shock me though to see a 5,000 + crowd. Big
problem is no momentum of games to get the casual fans involved. One
home October game will mean a slow crowd start to the season.

5298 is my prediction for tonight. Bring on the $1 hotdogs (and I don't mean the Nailers).

Get Clones instead of Clunkers.

Could have sworn that at least 5500 were in the arena.

Anyway, a good start given the economy and the price increase.

That would translate into 6500 in Wheeling. It always amazes me on our
attendance count. If the bottom bowl was 10,000, 5,086 would still seem
small to what I saw.Seating Capacity: 6955 is straight from the ECHL
website and Capacity: 5406 is the listing for Wheeling. I guess you
don't count in Cincinnati if you sit in the upper bowl.
Speaking of home attendance-Toledo has now played 5 home games this year.

LOL.

I wonder how they figure attendance now with the tickets being ripped and not scanned?

To be fair, Wheeling's number is based on tickets sold (and maybe given away too). That doesn't necessarily mean that's the number of people there.

I do hate that they act like that is the actual size of the crowd.

We'll see some really inflated numbers from Wheeling soon. I'm already staying home instead of making the drive up there to see the Nailers watch the other team play hockey. I'm sure others feel the same way.

Glad to see you guys had such a good turnout.

Hopefully last nights attendance is a good indication of things to come. It was nice to see a lot of people come down from Nippert to attend the Cyclones game.

I looked around and said 5800 so 5086 surprised me. The bottom level was not completely filled but there was a lot of people in the upper level. Our section was packed.

Big crowds always bring out rookie fans and funny comments. It was the last minute of the game with Cincinnati up 2-1. The girl behind me notices the Nailer's empty net an yells "Hey, Their goalie went to the bathroom!".

I was very happy to see the enthusiasm of the crowd. They were definitely into the game from what I could tell. It will be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up for the first Thirsty Thursday on Nov. 5 and Throwback night on Nov. 6. Nov. 6 could be a big night because of all of the discounts going on. Those $7.00 tickets should be a nice draw.

Good to see a nice start, both in the stands and on the ice!

Did anyone else notice all of the Chicago Bear gear in the arena Saturday night? Not sure if they were local CHicago transplants or from the Windy city here for the Bengal game Sunday. Great win Saturday night and great crowd. I would have guessed around 6000 but....

LOL screamin...i know of one Bears fan that was at the Cyclones fan, but I wont release HIS true home/love of Chicago over Cincy. He's a closet Cyclones fan hahaha

Anyways, hrc, they said that the scanners were just not working that night, so I would expect that the ripping of tickets is only a temporary thing.

Not sure about that... In the letter from the ticket reps about the this season's ticket exchange program, it said that the tickets are going to be ripped all year instead of scanned. As far as I know, they were having some issues with tickets not being able to be used because they had been "previously scanned." So, I assume it will take more time to count attendance, but it will be easier for them to keep track of the exchanges.

What you do today can change the course of your life far into the future. Today is critical. Today really counts.

regardless of if they scan or rip or both, make sure you, and who ever you're with actually go through a turnstyle.
