I don't think the idea is to get new people in with $1 pops, it would just be a nice alternative to go along with the beer, and would seemingly be pretty effortless. It's not like they would have to buy all new products such as extra hot dogs if they were doing it that way, but along with the $1 beers, why not throw in the pops. Again I'd like to point out that this is the way the Freedom does it, who I'd be willing to bet the Cyclones got the idea from, and it is one of their most successful nights. I just don't see why they wouldn't do it after multiple fan's requests because I don't see how they would be losing money or having to put in any more effort. |

I agree that it would be a nice gesture for USBA to do the buck pop deal. It seems that a few folks on here think that it's a bit unfair to just do the beer thing and I would imagine that this viewpoint is probably pretty reflective of overall public sentiment.

Yes it did ... we've just been referring to having them on the weeknight $1 beer nights. |

If they were to do a $ soda night... it would be in those little 10oz cups, they would never discount a bottled soda.
Speaking of the bottled soda... did they get it back? I was told they would not have bottled any longer. |

I didn't have time to read every post on this thread but I did read the first few. . .It pisses me off (not really because I have better things to worry about) when fans complain about the stupid stuff like only having dollar beer night! to say it is "discriminating" to have dollar beer night and not dollar pop night is ridiculous! WHAT ABOUT THE WATER PEOPLE!!! OR hot cocoa people!!! you can't please everybody! AND nobody is forcing anybody to pay for $3.50 pepsi if its too expensive don't buy it! (water fountains around the concourse) the staff and sponsers do what they can! No matter what they have to make a profit or we won't have a team
To say they are bandwagon fans is getting old I hear it on here a lot. . just because a fan doesn't come to all the games, knows every players name and favorite food, has all their junior cards and pee-wee cards, and probably some of their hair is a vial etc etc etc. . . doesn't make them bandwagon fans. and In my opinion most people come to watch the games, yes they come for promotions but that can only keep you busy for 5 minutes until you realize the dollar hot dog was left over from the last game....
All and all get over it, enjoy the game, and cut back on arena food its always going to be more than it should be!! Its bad for you anyway; right?? Shouldn't the big question be why we lost to an 0 and 6 team?? |

We found bottled Pepsi at the Cold Stone Ice Cream stand behind section 117. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Cheaper soft drinks would be nice but since they don't offer that we just bring our own. Water also for that matter. They have never told us we could not have our bottled water when they check our bag.....we do however keep the pops hidden. I would like to see them discount the ticket prices for kids under 10 to $6.00. We are a single income family of 5 and really enjoy going to the games but my younger kids of 3 and 7 usually don't stay interested in the whole game. I know it's not much to some but a usual game sets us back $90.00+ with tickets, parking and food. Still far less than a Reds or Bengals game I'm sure. All in all though I understand the dollar beer nights, it is good for the team and ownership which means we keep getting to watch hockey. |

I don't know I feel quite as strong as ARSClone, but I'm with you. The organization knows what they feel will bring in people and I don't really care what they do if it keeps a team in Cincinnati.
I'm not a drinker myself, but I'm the DD for people from my work who come down for it who may not normally come. We all have a great time, and some of those guys now come to eight or ten games a year. And now its not for the $1.00 beer-they are actually liking what they see. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |
