Ok, so here we have a Cyclones puck commemorating the Cincinnati Cyclones 10th Anniversary in 2000. Although, if you want to get technical it was only the 8th anniversary of the IHL's Cyclones team as the original 1990 ECHL Cyclone's franchise at that time would've been celebrating their tenth anniversary in Birmingham, Alabama. That franchise is now known as the ECHL's Stockton Thunder.

Anyways, here I have a puck commemorating ten successive years of having a minor league hockey team named the "Cyclones" in Cincinnati. It just so happens I recently had this puck signed by an icon and legend in not only Cyclones history, but Cincinnati hockey alike...the one, the only... DON HELBIG!

Don is one of the original Cincinnati Cyclones staff members and was involved with the team for six of their most successful seasons in terms of ticket sales and media coverage.

This one of a kind piece of hockey memorabilia signed by a Cincinnati Hockey legend can be yours today, just make me an offer!

The photo's good and all, but does it come with a certified letter of authenticity?

How about the guy that designed the logo sign the puck....that would be ME! I have multiple story boards of the in progress logo, myself standing on the ice after it was painted on the floor at the Crown, I have the video of Wild man introducing me to the crowd at the Crown first game of the season introducing me as the logo designer...that has got to be worth something...i got season tix that year and a St Patrick's jersey....really Don was only a memory when Doug Kirchofer and I was looking at early sketches for the 10th Logo.

SCUBA if you're willing to share them, I'd love to see those photographs. Did you design the 10th anniversary logo or the logo of the cyclone holding the stick?

Helbig may have been a memory to the Cyclones organization at that time, but he was still one of the teams original staff members and an notable person in Cincinnati hockey history as he was working for the Ducks at the time.

At one time I was drawing various players from the 1990's. Mostly for wives and girlfriends of the various players on the team. I worked with Scott Thomas's wife at an area hospital where she and I worked together. She found out about my artistic abilities.....That year I sketched Scott scoring his first NHL goal with the Sabers, Scott Morrow for a Girlfriend, Chris Chihocki for his wife Val, I composed a drawing of Todd Hawkins for his retirement. I also donated various sketches of Shane Willis and Ed Patterson, Don Biggs, and Gilbert Dionne. My favorite drawing was of Don Biggs in jerseys of all his teams he played for. It was a present from his wife to Don, that piece was very enjoyable because I was able to experience not only on ice hockey but family life as well. Since I was known around the Cyclones and fan club, doug Kirchofer approched me and asked if I was interested.

I have a graphic design background but I didn't design the cyclone with the stick or the 1990 logo. I took both logos and Doug wanted somehow to combine the two to represent past and present. Both the 1990 original logo and the present Cyclone logo work was really done and it was alot of cut and paste to get the right look that doug was interested in....great time
