Good ole Sgroi got released yesterday too.....he's not a bad player, it is just a really bad roid rage temper he needs to control. |

| After everything we have given Sgroi, I dont think he would want to be here, nor would most of our fans, if he was just a fighter absolutley, but he brings too much baggage, give me Salekin, or JJ |

I say work a trade with the aces for JJ send Benson packing. |

i will not go on record stating exactly why because i did not witness anything personally but several reputable sources have all told me a version of the same story. personally, i liked jj, but after hearing about the aforementioned incident, i feel it is safe to say that the odds of jj returning to cincinnati are between slim and none; and i think slim is in the car leaving town.
also, need i remind people of all the questionable penalties jj took when he first arrived in cincy, not to mention the reputation he gained from those penalties which put a target on him for the officials and resulted with numerous "soft" penalties being called on him as the season progressed.
if any negativity towards benson is based on his two recent misconducts, i personally feel those are an aberration. you can read more on my thoughts here: http://bit.ly/5ShrJz
the main issue with sgroi is that he's a liability on the ice. yes, he can fight and yes, he has some offensive ability but you just never know when he is going to snap.
salekin could bring some grit to our d core for sure and i'm sure chuck is well aware of his availability and if he feels it's a good fit for the team and phone calls will be made. |

One thing I will say about Johnson is that I really respected the way he always gave 110% on the ice. Normally that just sounds like a lazy, cliche way to describe a player, but considering his natural skill, I would say that effort is directly accountable for his 10 goals (22 points overall, 6 more in the playoffs) while he was with us. I will also always remember his class, I recall him being the first over to two of the opposing teams' benches in the playoffs at the conclusion of the final games. That being said, elvis has a great point about JJ being a penalty magnet, sometimes in costly fashion. His 110% effort usually meant very short shifts, as well.
That being said, it is the ECHL, so I don't expect players to just blindly jump back to former teams. There is simply no need for JJ on the team with Benson on the roster. I would definitely welcome Salekin, my only problem with him was that when he initially got promoted to the point on the power play, he generally shot way too often, and the majority of the time they were way off target. |

Sgroi is just nuts. We don't need a goon like that. The league doesn't need a goon like that. That dude seems to always be 2 seconds from cheaply ending someone's career, and there is a reason his resume seems to cover every minor league team that has existed in the past 10 years. Just sayin'.
Salekin takes penalties, but I'd welcome the grit right now.

Allen 01/25/10 Salekin, Mike (D) signed contract Central Hockey League Allen Americans
O well, I thought Salekin would sign somewhere in the ECHL because he left another CHL team this year because he wanted back in the ECHL, oddley enough Sean Perkins was released by the Allen Americans the other day |
