Fun game. Winning always helps.
In the first period things were kind of subdued in terms of a Cyclones/Nailers game, but the intensity picked up and by the end of the 3rd we were back to the good old hate we have grown accustomed to.
Del Monte went a little over the top defending his captain in the last minute, but thats OK. It was a response to a cheap shot.
Voakes looks really good. The Sproat/Voakes/Kilpatrick line is going to be fun if they can stay together.

Who was on the internet feed with Hammel? I only caught the last 4 minutes of play, and I never got a name.

| Really fun game tonight. Wheeling seems to have really climbed out of the cellar. The North Division is tight. |

Can't go swinging the stick. I agree that the shot on the Captain was cheap and uncalled for, but you can't swing the stick. You just can't.
It missed, and it wasn't super violent with intent to injure, but he still did it.

I see all DelMonte got was a slashing call (it was never announced), which is fine. I'm just surprised there wasn't something else tacked on.

Since Jozsa was recalled by Milwaukee our power play is 5/20 (25%). If one throws out the first (out of 4) game then it's 5/17 (29%).
The puck movement is so much better than it was it's not even funny. Tape-to-tape passing is the norm. Tape-to-steel is but a bad memory.
God Bless Jozsa. In even strength and shorthanded situations. |

I agree. Passing seems to have improved a lot since the last game I went to. I hadn't been able to make it down to a game in awhile. There are only two distinct times tonight I can remember where a pass was completely botched and the crowd sighed. Wheeling on the other hand, I can't even begin to count how many of their guys were tripping, falling and passing to no one. |

DelMonte took a stick swing as everything was being broken up. It wasn't a huge overhand hack, but it was a swing. He missed.
Nothing major, I'd just heard there was going to be zero tolerance for such things. With the huge scrum the ref likely missed it.

It was the Stingrays' broadcaster. I don't know his name though. |
