Not counting the two games with J-Town, in our last ten games when we have fallen back in the standings, we have given up 18 power play goals in 52 chances or 1.8 per game for a penalty kill percent of 75.5%. In the last seven games we have given up 15 power play goals ( at least 2 in six/of the seven games) in 37 chances for a penalty kill of 60%!!!

At the same time in the last ten we have scored 7 power play goals in 50 attempts for a power play percent of 14%. Hopefully we can turn both around--especially the penalty kill --prior to the playoffs where special teams and goal tending are the key ingredients.

Seems all we do on penalty kill is load up the box to block the lanes and teams pass the puck at will until a lane opens or they throw the puck on net hoping for a deflection or rebound. Anyone else have other thoughts on this recent trend?

Weber is obviously trying to shake up the power play. Last night we often had Cashman and a forward on the point. Problem is that its not really working.

On the kill we are very passive.

Lately we seem to be getting a bunch of SOG but putting them in the middle of the goalie's chest. Also lots of plain old misses.
Could be a matter of things have gone dry and the guys are trying too hard. <shrug>
