Cyclones Goaltender Robert Mayer Recalled By Hamilton

CINCINNATI, Ohio The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHLs Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon that goaltender Robert Mayer has been recalled by the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL). It is the fourth time this season that Mayer has been recalled by Hamilton or Montreal (NHL).
Mayer, 20, is in his rookie season and has posted a 19-10-1 record with a 2.81 goals against averagefifth-best in the ECHL. Robert has turned in a pair of shutouts for the Cyclones as well. He had an eight game unbeaten in regulation time stretch (7-0-1) from January 27 through March 5.
The recall of Robert Mayer is the 30th recall of a Cincinnati Cyclones player by an American Hockey League team. A total of 16 different players have been involved with promotions among seven different teams. Cyclones players have participated in 220 AHL games this season.
The Cyclones play at Kalamazoo on Wednesday looking to gain a share of the North Division lead. The team comes home on Friday (April 2) for its final home game of the regular season on U.S. Bank Fan Appreciation Night against Johnstown. Hundreds of prizes worth more than $5000 will be given away to guests that night. Dollar hot dogs, dollar pizza slices and dollar beers will be available all night. The regular season ends with a visit to Wheeling on Saturday (April 3) night.
