Current standings: 1-Charlotte (91) 8-Reading (76) 5-Cincinnati (89) 4-South Carolina (90)
3-Elmira (81) 6-Florida (83) 7-Toledo (77) 2-Kalamazoo (90) Only face Toledo in finals. This could be our best chance ! |

| Yeah, but with these last two games pending a LOT can happen with K-Zoo, Charlotte, S. Carolina, and Cincy that will jumble this scenario all up. There are only two points separating them. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |

| Understand the concerns about Toledo but I would rather have the highest seed we can and have the extra home game for as many series as we can. |

| The goal I believe is to get to the league finals. As a number five seed, we would need to win three series for the conference championship against teams who most probably would have home ice advantage. That is a tall order and , in my opinion, harder to do than beat Toledo. If you really feel the goal should be to avoid Toledo ( who will seed either 7 or 8) in the first round, then we don't want to take any chances of finishing first or second and should just tank it for the last two games!! |

| Are people really worried about facing Toledo in the first round? How many times in sports have we seen teams not play well against a team during the regular season and then they end up beating them in the playoffs? It's happened a couple times over the years with the Cyclones. Personally, I'm not afraid of them playing any team. I have confidence in them and faith in coach Weber that they will find a way to win together. If they play the way they're capable of playing we should see a couple more banners hanging from the rafters in October. |

Who we face is secondary at this point. I am far more concerned about the goal tending situation than anything else. There is a tremendous amount of pressure on Smith, and knowing he has no one behind him should he struggle may be more than a rookie can handle.
Sure the losses of MVG and Cashman hurt, but the absence of Mayer might be even harder to overcome. The one good thing is that Coach Weber knows how to make adjustments on the fly. |

I seem to remember last season Wheeling was the one giving us fits during the regular season and we ended up beating them in 7 games (the 7th game going 2OT's) in the first round of the playoffs.
