I just found this on the Royals' website: http://www.royalshockey.com/news/news.asp?story_id=1163
Do whiteouts work, or is it just a marketing ploy to give away white shirts?
The team should just do purple since white is not on of the team colors. |
Cyclones hockey. A championship caliber team in a city of losers. |

Reading couldn't beat it's way out of a wet paper bag right now if it wasn't for all he returns you have on your roster from the AHL!!! If we used the regular season rosters, Cincy would take you in a heart beat!!!!!!!!! |

sounds like some sour grapes there. the rosters are what they are at this point so you just have to make the best of it with who you do have. besides cincy was stacked w/ahl players cup year so it's not like this is something new. All that aside lets hope the boys come out ready to play tonight and get the W!! |

Sure it's sour grapes, but isn't wine kinda like sour grapes. I'm alitte ticked off, I know what the Clones can do, there is no reason why we should be facing elimination for the next 4 games.
The Kelly Cup Clone team, maybe someone can correct me, we certainly were loaded with talent but not many were "down" from the AHL. A few had been up and down but largely I remember some of the Clone faithful debating with others who felt the Clone cup players were not AHL caliber. However to OUR credit, most Kelly Cup Clones have been quite successful in the "A"
With that said I say we go with Mayer, maybe give Reading something different to look at. Different habits, strengths and weaknesses. At this point with nearly 4 days between games, Mayer or Smith sould be ready to go |

If memory serves me correctly, most of our kelly cup team evaded the radar of the AHL! Thats how we stayed so "POWERFUL", all season long. You can't really compete if you lose most of your talent to the AHL! |

We had numerous call ups in 2007-2008. Aubin was up and down and so was Cedrick. Greg Stewart was also up and down. We didn't get Ryan Russell until late in the season (I think he played the last 12 regular season games). On the MKE side, Bryan Schmidt was up and down as was James Sixsmith. Ryan Maki was a late addition. Then there was Conrad Martin, Jimmy Bonneau and Matt MacDonald who all had AHL time. Desharnais even received a call up. During the win streak Chuck had to use several different line ups due to call ups.
The big difference between the KCC Clones and this years Royals team is that most of the guys started the season with the Clones or played double digit games. Reading received several guys just before the 5th to last regular season game so they could be playoff eligible. It sucks but there isn't anything we could do about it. Their affiliates were well within their rights to assign guys late so they could keep playing.
Overall, it doesn't bother me much given the fact that the biggest issue that we're having with Reading is solving Dalton, who played most of the season in Reading. |

Thanks Elvis, thats helpful for me because I didn't remember any KCC Clone player up in the AHL for long periods of time only to be sent down to help us out during the playoffs. For the most part, the team that started out the kelly cup season Cup team was the team that won it in the end. |
