I'll be the first to admit my doubts about the Cyclones ability to prevent them from being knocked out of the playoffs with Reading. That having been said, after what has happened the last two games, I have renewed confedance in a positive outcome for the boys! Saturday, the offense finally showed up, and Sunday, I thought the defense was great also! I know some of you didn't like the idea of coach Weber starting Robert Mayer due to his lack of play time since his call-up, but obviously, he was up to the challenge! I was glad to see it from the stand point of Jeremy Smith just getting tired and worn out. Smith did an excellent job but I think he was beginning to weaken a little, combined with our lack of offense. The special teams finally began to click, giving us some much needed power play goals as well as solid penalty kill! The bottom line is weather or not the Cyclones continue to play up to their potential, which they surely have the last two games. If they do, they can beat the best of the best! We'll be at USBA Tuesday and hopefully, there will be a game Wed! |

Okay the big debate- I use Mayer for game 6 and Smith for game 7 and have the hook ready on either one if they get in trouble. I also keep the rookies in for their agressive hockey play. Maybe Aubin and Del Monte read our posts and stepped it up last night !! |

It's great to be made to look stupid
It looks like the clock has struck midnite and Cinderella's (Dalton's) carriage has turned into a pumpkin. He has been playing way over his head throughout the playoffs. Not anymore. Same for Caruthers and Labelle.
Congrats to Weber on his 39th playoff victory-the most for any coach in ANY 4 year window in ECHL history. And what a coaching advantage we have!! Weber has won 4 game 7's (I'm counting the SC 5 gamer this year) in the past 3 years. Reading's Courville is a novice coach who never even competed for a Championship in his entire decade plus long career. If we can somehow do it again on Tuesday, then I really like our chances to make ECHL history in game 7.
Unless Kilpatrick committed an unforgivable act (which I assume would have gotten him kicked off the team), then it's time to play him again. He'll be hungry and angry. If there are no suspensions on our side, then I'd take Ortiz out for Killer.
Gotta go with Mayer with the quick hook if necessary. He's got the very hot hand with a 0.56 goals against in the 2 games vs. Reading. If he wins on Tuesday, then I would look to him to get the start in game 7.
Now if only Lacroix and Van Guilder could remember how to score a goal |

Winning the clinching game of a series is always the toughest game to win. I think reading may have peaked at the wrong time in winning 8 straight games to start the playoffs. It was great to finally see Mathieu show up and play the way he's capable of playing. I had barely even noticed that he was a Cyclone again. The Cyclones have quite a bit of talent it was just a matter of time before they found the back of the net. Luckily they found it before it was too late. |

Listening the other night to the interview Hammer had with Coach Weber, Killer was benched for playing "Outside the team" concepts. If and when coach feels he has his undivided attention will he play. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |

I will be the first to admit it, I really thought after game 2 we were dead in the water and told people so. Guess I didn't learn my lesson after the Wheeling series last year. I told everyone that I would eat my words if they won that series and I did (wrote it on a piece of paper and ate it). If this should be the case this year, I will eat my words again, just not on paper (maybe written on a cookie). |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I was very happy to see Reading's show of frustration late in the game last night. They've gotta be feeling the series slipping away from their grasp, even though they still lead the series..
They could do no wrong for the first 3 games. They were on autopilot, so to speak. Now, especially after last night, nothing can go right for them and they are back on their heels a quite a bit. The tide has definitely turned in the Clones favor. Chuck's team needs to use this to their advantage tomorrow night and further demoralize the Royals. I can almost smell a game 7 already. GO CLONES!!! |

JK, don't you mean they could do no wrong in the first two series? I didn't expect Reading to keel over like French Royalty after losing their first playoff game in regulation. I thought the Clones did a nice job in game 4 giving them a nice hook and wanted to see their reaction. The reaction: getting shut out and play goonie hockey at the end. Hope they continue to be frustrated for the next two games. Getting Frustrated + Clones (O+D) = losing games |
Cyclones hockey. A championship caliber team in a city of losers. |

Unlike some coaches, at least Larry Courville had a professional playing career including 33 games in the National Hockey League, which is more than ECHL Cyclones players have combined to play at that level since 2006.

You're absolutely right. I was only thinking of this series in particular but definitely, up until this past weekend, the entire post-season had been going their way. That fact would only intensify their frustration. They could conceivably be going from almost unstoppable in the post season to elimination in only 5 calendar days (assuming the Cyclones win the next two, that is). |

I too, along with somebeach, had thought this season would be over Saturday night. I was totally surprised on Sunday morning. Since I didn't listen to the games this weekend & they won, I'm not coming down tonight or tomorrow nor will I listen. I'll just wait for the final result. |

"Thought it would be over Saturday night"- heck I thought it was going to be over in South Carolina . Weber's team is like a pack of Everready Batteries-they keep going and going and going..... At this point it looks like the best thing that happened to us was the layoff between Tuesday and Saturday. I still go with Mayer tonight and Smith on Wednesday-even if Mayer pitches another shutout tonight. |

I knew they were in trouble after dropping the first 2 at home, but never thought they were done. It's not over until you lose 4 games and Weber's teams have always been resilient. No matter how bad things get they just always rally around each other and never quit. As a fan, that's something that I love to watch and it's just one of several reasons why Weber is the best coach in the ECHL and we are lucky to have him. |

http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100510/SPT/305090020/1062/Cyclones+gel+during+stay+in+Reading++Pa. The Cyclones are trying to become the sixth team in the history of professional hockey to win a best-of-seven playoff series after losing the first three games, according to Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting John Hamel.
The last was Orlando in the 1999 International Hockey League East Division finals against Detroit. The Solar Bears, whose front office staff included a second-year ticket representative named Chuck Weber, won Game 7 in double-overtime. |
