No ones friend, C-Man, back on here...
Game Seven was an amazing experience to go through... we have had to go the distance three times to get to the Kelly Cup Finals... this year we dont have home-ice... we dont have the target on our back... we are not the prodigal sons of the ECHL... and here we are, for the second time in three years, as one of the two best teams in the ECHL AT THIS VERY SECOND! Its so surreal... who knew that when we came back to the ECHL in 2006 we would create such a dynasty! It will all conclude when we hoist the Kelly Cup again in 2010! We proved tonight, and we will prove against Idaho, that the criticism of being a #5 seed is complete horse****! I have just one message for any skeptical Dayton Bummer mourner out there that keeps trying to bring us down... if you think a #5 seed means instant death in the playoffs, ASK THE MONTREAL CANADIENS!
And getting back to Chuck for a minute, I look around the board and I see all the tributes to Chuck and all the marvelous things he has done... HE HAS DONE SO MUCH to help these kids thrive and succeed, and he is the molder and shaper of the success that we have enjoyed right along with him. Speculation is that this could very well be his last round-up with us before a well deserved promotion. If this is so, than he will leave us with nothing more than our thanks and our well wishes... so long as he doesnt coach another ECHL team, then we will have to jeer him and boo him when he comes back to USBA... but, I want to say right here, right now... Chuck Weber, THANK YOU! And while I hope you stay here, we all know you deserve to climb higher.
I will see everyone at the finals... and when we bring that Kelly Cup home, be it a home celebration that would trump 2008, or awaiting the team at the airport with trophy in hand, I will always remember it all!

I don't think you have to worry about Coach Weber coaching another ECHL team. He said in a season ticket holders dinner last year his goal is to move up like the players, but as long as he is in the ECHL there is no where he would rather be than Cincinnati. I'm sure the organization takes care of him and we all know he has a free reign to do what is necessary. I am like several others on here though...I just don't see how this man has not earned a head coaching job in the AHL after what he has done here. |

I agree wholeheartedly that Chuck more than deserves a shot at the AHL My selfish side says ,I hope he don't get an offer from the AHL, so that he stays here with the Cyclones , but realistically speaking, he more than deserve it Maybe it won't happen any time real soon, but when it does and we all know it "WILL", I wish him all the best Having said that, I hope he continues to work his magic to get Cincinnati another Kelly Cup Let's all be at USBA, for the show down and pack the house, cheering our Cyclones on to victory |

Whats the possibility that CWeb lands on either Milwaukee or Hamilton's bench ? That would be awsome. Keep him in the family LOL |

My vision for a perfect hockey universe: -Cyclones winning the Kelly Cup -Hamilton winning the Calder Cup -Montreal winning the Stanley Cup -Chuck either staying in Cincy or being promoted to Hamilton or Milwaukee |

Hamilton just hired their current coach last year, if i recall correctly. Milwaukee could be an option, he seems to do alot of work with them. |

I agree he has done a lot of work with Milwaukee, but with them having made the playoffs this year, I would be somewhat surprised if a team would dump someone who got them to the post season.
Of course it is only speculation on my part. There are a lot of people on here who have better inside information than I do and am interested in their views. |

It's not a matter of teams "dumping" their coaches...all sorts of things can happen to open up coaching vacancies.
Guy Boucher was just picked to coach Hamilton last season, but he is on the Blue Jackets short list to fill their coaching vacancy. If he gets the chance to move on, he will and that leaves an opening in Hamilton. Chuck did say that he interviewed with Hamilton last summer and one would have to think he would get another interview should the job become available. The MTL/Hamilton organization like to have a French speaking coach and I'm not sure how sharp Chuck's French is, but there is always Rosetta Stone I guess.
The Nashville/MKE side of things seems to be a better fit. Chuck has history with members of their coaching staff and with one of Nashville's assistant coach's (I forget which) name being thrown around for NHL jobs and the current trend of promoting coaches from within the system, it's not a stretch to see MKE's coach wind up in Nashville.
There are currently 4 NHL coaching vacancies that I'm aware of. New Jersey is the only team that seems to have more interest in an established NHL coach (Ken Hitchcock) than a minor league guy. Time will tell. |

Readings Fletcher Suspended Indefinitely May 12, 2010
PRINCETON, N.J. The ECHL announced that Scott Fletcher of the Reading Royals has been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation into an off-ice incident that took place during Game #6 of the American Conference Finals at Cincinnati on May 11, 2010.
At this time the Leagues investigation is ongoing and a final determination on the length of the suspension will be announced following the completion of the Leagues review.
Can anybody shed some light on the subject? I'm just curious as to what he may have done to deserve an indefinite suspension. THX.

See previous thread named "suspensions?" for the complete run down of all the suspension from the Reading round. |

In regards to Fletcher, going around the S6D circles is that he hit a kid with a hockey stick which triggered the suspension... I say ban his ass from ever playing in the league again! |

It wasn't a kid-it was a young adult. It should never ever be tolerated, but it was not an attempt to either murder or maim; it was another "young adult" in a very frustrating game being verbally harrassed by all of us in that general area. |
