CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, have announced the team's 2010-11 preseason schedule. The Cyclones will face-off against the Wheeling Nailers in a brief home-and-home series beginning Friday, October 8 at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling. The following night, Saturday, October 9, the same two teams will meet at Northland Ice Center in Evendale, OH. Both games are slated to start at 7:30pm.

Starting today, Cyclones season ticket holders will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase general admission tickets for the Saturday night game prior to them going on sale to the public. There will be less than 600 tickets available. Those fans will be able to buy one preseason game ticket for every season ticket they have purchased. Any remaining tickets will be available to the general public on September 15, priced at $10 each. For more information, or to order, call 513.421.PUCK (7825).

Northland Ice Center is located at 10400 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45241 just north of the Reading Road / Glendale-Milford Road intersection. Get directions to Northland Ice Center here.

The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule on Saturday, October 30 at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Discounted ticket packages for the 2010-11 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) extension 3 or visit CyclonesHockey.com.

How in the world are they going to fit 600 people inside of Northlands?

Sucks its at Northland and not at US Bank again, which was free last year.

They've spruced up the place at Northland and re-did their website. I'm not sure how many seats they have compared to Sports Plus. Acc. to the website they're the official practice ice for the Cyclones - http://www.northlandicecenter.com .

Northland isn't really that big for seating but there is a lot of standing room and I'm sure they'll bring in lots of seats as well. I think it'll work out pretty ok.

Also its better than SP anyway, especially since new ownership has taken over there.

New proshop at Northlands is so much bigger than before. Cyclones have a dedicated locker room at Northlands as well.

The team will save at least $10,000 by having the game at Northland.

Opening up USBA is an expensive proposition and very little revenue is generated in pre season.

With only 600 seats perhaps a scalping opportunity may present itself

Too bad they couldn't have found a site like Miami Univ. where a
large venue in the area could possibly introduce new fans. Even
down in Lexington could have been interesting- close enough for
our fans if on a Saturday night.

US Bank Arena is not available on that date due to Disney on Ice. So hence the move to Northlands. I agree Miami would have been nice but they are playing at Goggin that night as well. I imagine the Clones would rather play any place else but Northlands but it looks like it is the only real option.

Lexington is not close to Cincinnati. I would say to at least keep it in our own state.

It's still close enough that old Lexington fans still come up some
games. I know because I have talked to them in person. Also Lexington
would be a great close location for another ECHL franchise possibly
down the road.

I remember going to a preseason game at Miami at old Goggin. I forget how many that arena held - a thou. maybe? It was quite a few years ago, against the K-Wings.

I remember going to the IHL/NHL preseason double header at the gardens when I was in high school. This may sound like an awful idea, but if the Cyclones were to play at Miami. Why not have a double header game at Miami? Both fans of the Cyclones and Redhawks would experience each others games. Considering the Cyclones would have much to lose on this idea, I doubt it would ever happen.

I remember this. I was just a kid, but I remember the Cylones played someone (I can't remember the opponent), and the Florida Panthers played the New York Islanders I believe. I was barely old enough to remember it at the time, but I do remember being there for it!
