Both Desjardins and Turco dueled for most of the second period, as each made a series of spectacular saves to keep the score knotted at one. Turco was relieved in favor of backup Hannu Toivonen midway through the second period after making 14 saves on 15 shots.

Desjardins, making both his NHL and Lightning debut, earned the win by stopping 31 of 33 shots. The Bolts net minder also received help from his defense, especially late in the game as the Lightning killed off a 6-on-3 Chicago power play. As a unit, Tampa Bay went 5-for-5 on the night against Chicagos man advantage.

Desjardins will find there is much to do and celebrate in Norfolk.

Attractions, such as the battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin, a salute to the city's long-standing relationship with the Navy, Nauticus, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, and the new Cruise and Celebration Center dot Norfolk's downtown waterfront.

The waterfront is also home to Town Point Park, a recently refurbished green space that houses summer festivals, fountains, walkways, and tributes to the City's naval history. Other treasures --The Chrysler Museum, Norfolk Botanical Garden and the Virginia Zoological Park -- are close by.

Welcome back Donnie. Didn;t say anything about him making the tampa bay roster--he won't--just providing some information on his performance for those that remember what he meant to the Cyclones. .I am sure it was a nice night for him- good of you to turn it into a negative.

Why the hell would you post crap like this? Are you just jealous that he makes more than you in 2-3 months just by playing hockey?

Jim, I think this should pretty much do it for Donnie. You really need to think more about your "no ban" policy because it isn't fair that he is ruining this message board for most of the people who post here.

Randy... I don't have a "no ban" policy. I just don't think Donnie has done anything "wrong". If Donnie believes Desjardins isn't ready for the NHL, that's fine with me. It's just his opinion. MOVE ON.

PLEASE, BACK TO THE TOPIC.

He played in the preseason last year for the Canadiens and won in a shootout versus the Dead Wings.
