What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Well that sucks. While Doug wasn't injury free and most likely not our best defenseman he will be missed for his point shot (More accurate & harder than Fast's) and his HP4K contributions.
Maybe this is a change for the better, ie letting the defense play defense and quit getting caught up ice helping out the offense.
I really hope we have a plan for all these "future considerations". |

| Very unusual to trade within your division especially for future considerations |

We're simply overloaded with Dmen, especially given that Delory's natural position is D.
I liked Doug alot, but I'm not surprised.

At the Coach's Show Skalde said the trade was made to make salary cap room for Dustin Sproat. The 'Clones where a bit defense heavy and Krantz was kind of the odd man out. When you look at the non-affiliated dmen, aside from Benn Olson, Doug was the weakest dman. There's no way Sheahan or O'Hanely could moved, and I doubt anyone would be interested in an injured guy like Sloane, so that left Doug. Personally, I would have preferred to see Olson get moved but Skalde seems to like the guy and then there is the money side of things; my guess is Doug's contract fit the bill for making cap room than Olson's.
As far as moving him to Toledo, a team we have to see 11 more times this season, I wasn't thrilled to see that. However, it was a classy move by Skalde; Victoria and Toledo had interest and Coach left it up to Doug. |
