David Desharnais was held scoreless on one shot and was minus-1 in Montreal's 4-1 loss against the Edmonton Oilers tonight. The Diminutive One had just 11:06 TOI, with Canadiens' head coach Jacques Martin giving him just 9:56 minutes in even-strength situations.

Let's see.

Your hottest player has 7 points in the last 4 games.

What would you do as a coach?

a) Give him the same ice time that he's had in the past 4 games.

b) Reduce him to 4rth line minutes

If you were Jacques Martin-Montreals coach-then you would have gone for option b.

Nice job, Jacques. Your team scored one stinking goal and lost 4-1 to the worst team in the Conference.

His minutes were reduced in the second and third periods because he wasn't very effective in the opening period. When you're an unproven player in the NHL, as Desharnais still is, you're only as good as your last shift.

He is playing in the NHL, something you will never be able to do in your entire life. You act like you are so much better than Desharnasis when you are not.

Sounds to me like the title of this stream, "Desharnais point streak ends" says it all. Now we are down to posting and commenting about the fact he didn't get a point and what his ice time was rather than if he will ever make it at all to the NHL. He has shown he has the little man skills necessary to make it in the big man's league. The underlying question has been settled---not by anyone on this board with their opinions but by David himself with his talent and grit.

Few days ago he was actually listed on the Yahoo NHL section
as one of the "HOT" players on the fantasy section. We all know
if he get's elected one day to an All-Star team it will just be
because "anyone" can be named to one.

I admit I find some of Donnie's posts to be funny, but I dont understand the constant Desharnais bashing. As a Cyclones fan,it is exciting to see a former player get a shot in the NHL,even if it's only a few games. DD's played very well and looks to be working his way into a permanent spot on the Montreal roster. Are you even a Cyclones fan Don?

You need to find yourself a girl. Or perhaps the reason you have time to compile lists like this is that you already found one, and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet. You're not a eunuch are you?
