David Desharnais was held scoreless on one shot and was minus-1 in Montreal's 4-1 loss against the Edmonton Oilers tonight. The Diminutive One had just 11:06 TOI, with Canadiens' head coach Jacques Martin giving him just 9:56 minutes in even-strength situations.

Let's see.
Your hottest player has 7 points in the last 4 games.
What would you do as a coach?
a) Give him the same ice time that he's had in the past 4 games.
b) Reduce him to 4rth line minutes
If you were Jacques Martin-Montreals coach-then you would have gone for option b.
Nice job, Jacques. Your team scored one stinking goal and lost 4-1 to the worst team in the Conference.

His minutes were reduced in the second and third periods because he wasn't very effective in the opening period. When you're an unproven player in the NHL, as Desharnais still is, you're only as good as your last shift.

He is playing in the NHL, something you will never be able to do in your entire life. You act like you are so much better than Desharnasis when you are not. |

| Sounds to me like the title of this stream, "Desharnais point streak ends" says it all. Now we are down to posting and commenting about the fact he didn't get a point and what his ice time was rather than if he will ever make it at all to the NHL. He has shown he has the little man skills necessary to make it in the big man's league. The underlying question has been settled---not by anyone on this board with their opinions but by David himself with his talent and grit. |

However, David Desharnais still has more NHL goals than
Bert Robertsson Dan Trebil Lance Ward Travis Brigley Josh Gratton Kevin Sawyer Cam Severson Alexei Smirnov Aris Brimanis Maxim Kuznetsov Peter Leboutillier Chris O'Sullivan Mark Popovic Sergei Vyshedkevich Sheldon Brookbank Mike Brown Garrett Burnett Larry Courville Yan Golubovsky Mike Green Dean Malkoc Tony Martensson Antti-Jussi Niemi Marc Rodgers Aaron Rome Alexei Tezikov
And the following guys have not scored a goal since the last update;
Chris Albert Juha Alen Chris Armstrong Tom Askey Philippe Audet Mike Ayers Maxim Balmochnykh Ryan Barnes Francis Belanger Beau Bilek Anders Bjork Ryan Black Dany Bousquet Ryan Brindley Byron Briske Bobby Brown Jeremy Brown Steve Brule Ilya Bryzgalov Brendan Buckley Andy Canzanello Bill Cass Frederic Cassivi Nick Checco Mathieu Chouinard Dale Clarke Clint Collins Brian Cummings Julian Dal Cin Jean-Francois Damphousse George Davis Robin Delacoure Josh DeWolf Torrey DiRoberto Adam Edinger Calvin Elfring Jason Elliott Kerry Ellis-Toddington Brad Englehart Marten Engren Paul Esdale Eddie Ferhi Tim Fingerhut David Froh Mike Gaffney Mike Garrow Ryan Gaucher Martin Gerber Hugues Gervais Jean-Sebastien Giguere Chris Gobert Erich Goldmann Brian Gornick Brad Guzda Eric Hallman Hugh Hamilton Casey Hankinson Justin Harney Ryan Hoople Jean-Francois Houle Mike Isherwood Lee Jacobson Alexandre Jacques Lee Jinman Jerry Keefe Ben Keup Richard Keyes Trevor Koenig Kyle Kos Judd Lambert Scott Langkow Darryl Laplante Jason Lawmaster Tom Lawson Eric Lecompte Brian Lee Jay Legault Brian Leitza Dmitri Leonov Matt Loen Tim Lovell Joey MacDonald Cail MacLean Tomas Malec Carl Mallette Blair Manning Chris Mason Shawn McNeil Aren Miller Jeff Mitchell Tony Mohagen Marc Moro Gregg Naumenko Barry Nieckar Igor Nikulin Doug Nolan Sean O'Connor Nick Parillo Timo Parssinen Rastislav Pavlikovsky Jason Payne Cory Pecker Mark Pivetz Peter Podhradsky Igor Pohanka Mike Pomichter Harlan Pratt Jason Ralph Jamie Ram Craig Reichert Andy Reierson Bruce Richardson Dan Riva Todd Robinson Reagan Rome Jonas Ronnqvist Blaine Russell Terran Sandwith Paxton Schafer Michael Schutte Jason Sessa Lloyd Shaw Jarrett Smith Jordan Smith Nick Smith Nick Stajduhar Joel Stepp Toivo Suursoo Jan Tabacek Chris Thompson Pat Thompson Shawn Timm Chris Tok Nikolai Tsulygin Tony Tuzzolino Dan Vandermeer Tim Verbeek Chad Wagner Jesse Wallin Shawn Wansborough Brian White John Wikstrom Jeff Winter Bob Wren Jeremy Yablonski Brendan Yarema B.J. Young Jonathan Zion
We still love Dwayne Zinger, though.
Now granted, David has had the benefit of a whole 26 games to get this in, so let's not be unfair to the rest of the guys on this list. |

Few days ago he was actually listed on the Yahoo NHL section as one of the "HOT" players on the fantasy section. We all know if he get's elected one day to an All-Star team it will just be because "anyone" can be named to one . |

| I admit I find some of Donnie's posts to be funny, but I dont understand the constant Desharnais bashing. As a Cyclones fan,it is exciting to see a former player get a shot in the NHL,even if it's only a few games. DD's played very well and looks to be working his way into a permanent spot on the Montreal roster. Are you even a Cyclones fan Don? |

You need to find yourself a girl. Or perhaps the reason you have time to compile lists like this is that you already found one, and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet. You're not a eunuch are you?
