If the Cyclones were playing better, we could stop this count because he now seems to be ready for the NHL. By no means am I putting him in the Hall of Fame or even the All star game. It just to me seems he has earned a spot on the roster. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/boxscore?gid=2011030520 8:41 MON David Desharnais 8 (power play) (Andrei Kostitsyn) 2 - 0 |

| I agree, maybe the boys will find a way to come together and make the playoffs. For David, its nice to see him continue to do well. He has worked hard at each level and now is being rewarded for his efforts. He has certainly shown he can play at that level. It would be nice to see him get more ice time but perhaps the coaching staff is saving him for the playoffs. :+) |

Just went over to the highlights to see his goal. Maybe the Cyclones should take 5 minutes and watch it a few times. On the power play, the front of the net was WIDE OPEN (except for the goalie). David rotated right to left in front of the net, took a pass from behind the net (our favorite spot on power play) and fired it right in while passing by. By no one being in front standing like a statue, no defenders bothered to be there also, leaving a clear lane to skate in. |

| Outside of winning some faceoffs, he's been relatively ineffective in 5-on-5 situations, thus the reason why on most nights his ice time has been minimal. The Canadiens can't play him any higher than the fourth line in even-strength situations against most teams because he creates an unfavorable matchup because of his size (or lackthereof). But if he can continue to win faceoffs and help out on the power play, he'll contribute every night. |
