While I think Chuck is done at the ECHL level, would you want to turn him down for the job here and have him end up at Toledo?
Uhhhh... No. Just sayin.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama. |

| Because of affiliation and such can you fire a coach during a season in this league? If thats the case i would maybe give Skalde one more year and have somebody in the background if possible to take over during the season if Skalde cant pull things together and the trend continues. Maybe Zinger? |
old time hockey bar the door, clear the track, ITS ALL OUT WAR! |

Give Skalde another year UNLESS a clearly better candidate that wants the job is available. If Dean decides he just plain dislikes living in South Carolina and wants to come back... No brainer. Or some stud with a nice winning percentage in the minors/SPHL/CHL...
In short, I'm all for giving Skalde a chance to prove himself, but not at the expense of shooting the organization in the foot. If a clearly better option is available... Pull the trigger.
Well put. 100% agree. Carry on. |

OK...so devils advocate, again (ain't this fun). Chuck gets released from Rochester (which I don't necessarily agree with but who knows). Do you bring him back knowing he will be gone again in a heartbeat and we are back where we were this year all over again? Me personnally, no way.
Even if Chuck was released from Rochester,I would have to believe he gets a shot somewhere else in the AHL. If he remains in the Panthers fold, who knows. Maybe an assistant job with the big club? Florida is crap once again this season(shocking!) so that may not be that far fetched. I just can't see him back in the ECHL next year. |
