It's pretty simple now.
All we need is one point Friday and we're in regardless. If Toledo loses one remaining game, we don't even have to win Friday.
This morning was HUGE. Actually, last weekend was huge, but we've talked enough about that.

A nice win Friday against K-Zoo would be HUGE for this team going into the playoffs. Maybe it would boost their confidence and they would realize that they can beat teams in this division should they face them.
Just Devils advocate here, but can they still be eleiminated from the playoffs? If Toledo wins and the Clones lose, are they out? |

As it stands right now we are 6 points ahead of Toilet-o....oops, Toledo. We have 1 game left they have 3. If they win all 3 and we lose Friday they are in based on number of regulation wins (they would have 35, we would have 33). So we need at least a point on Friday or a Toledo loss in any of their remaining games. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The Cyclones clinch a playoff birth if ANY of the following occur:
- A Win
- An Overtime or Shootout loss
- One Toledo loss and it doesn't matter how (i.e. Regulation/Overtime/Shootout)
- Elmira loses all three games AND two losses are in regulation

Us winning today threw a monkey wrench into Elmira clinching a spot. Its safe to say 2 of those 3 teams will qualify. |

| I just hope if we do make it (and the odds are with us) we somehow draw Greenville or SC in the first round. |

I'd prefer Reading or Greenville to SC. The Stingrays are headed up by a coach who has been involved in deep playoff runs as player and a coach. They play a very defensive brand of hockey. If they get help from above they are probably the sleeper team in the Conference.
Reading and Greenville, while being good teams may just have some mental issues with the Cyclones. While many of the players have turned over, I'm sure those in the Royals organization must be worried about a match up with Cincy, the Cyclones have eliminated the Royals from the playoffs the last two times they've made the post season. Both times the Cyclones went on to winning the Championship. Given what happened last year, people in the Royals organization must be wondering what the hell they have to do to get past the Cyclones.
If Greenville gets their players back, they will be the team to beat. Cincinnati could very well be the team to derail the train though. The main reason is behind the bench. Stork was admittedly nervous and emotional playing the 'Clones at US Bank Arena. Can you imagine the pressure he would feel matched up against them in the playoffs? If the coach falls apart it's not too long before players follow suit.
Team I don't want to see besides SC:
Florida - The Cyclones pretty much had their way with them in the regular season but despite Florida's questionable defense, they are a team that can be down right scary offensively. FLA will but a lot of pressure on the D and I'm not sure if the current D-core (w/o Comrie and Fast) could handle the 'Blades for a 5 or 7 game series.
Kalamazoo - Despite recent success, the Wing have had the Cyclones number for most of the season. They're a team that has been mostly intact all season and seem to be peaking at the right time.
Wheeling - Unless the return of D'Agostino can help the Boys pick up some of the Nailers' tendencies, Wheeling is a bad match-up. Just a few weeks back the Nailer's depleted lined gave the 'Clones more than they could handle.
The giant question mark, outside of if the CYclones can keep their game elevated, is Elmira. The were in a free fall, fired their coach and went on a run. Who knows what the Jackals could pull off.
It's all for not if the Boys can't earn another point. There are guys in the locker room that have been there and know what it takes. Not to mention they'll probably have a little help from above... |

Naturally you never know what will happen in the playoffs. I was basing my thoughts on what we have consistently seen through the season. That is we clearly play better on the road, in the south than we do anywhere else. 2nd place is probably at home against the south.
But who knows.

Wheeling took care of it for us.
Right now we're 7th, matched up with Reading. That might change multiple times by Saturday.
