You brought the topic up so let's bring it HERE and leave the other section for the
celebration of our division title.
You claim 8000 tickets for last night's game were comped. My group of 7 tickets had
ONE comped ticket. This "comped" ticket was one of 4 free passes I got for BUYING a
season ticket. This club has shown that they don't give away any more than normal
amounts of free tickets. If our attendance average was 6,000-then I could suspect
freebies in the door were the norm. Why lie about attendance and stay in the bottom
third of the league. A good point was brought up by you and you don't even know it-
This is coming from the guy who sent Pete Robinson a letter when the Railraiders thing
didn't work out saying that it was like Christmas, New Year's and 4th of July all rolled into one.
Perfect example of a Cyclones fan.
If this happened-you notice the part "When the Railraiders thing didn't work out"-
means ONLY AFTER IT FAILED !!!! The Cyclones were class about not doing anything until
the AHL attempt failed.I doubt the Garden's group would have shown the same move.
If you don't like the Cyclones, that's your business. If your only joy in life is to try
and stir up ill feelings-post somewhere else.I respect this site too much to let idiots
turn it bad.

Great Post, Bags.

The buddy pass isn't a freebie. It's a season ticket holder benefit. A season ticket holder is granted 1 extra admission for every nine he pays for. It's still a paid ticket.

We all know that the announced crowd was paid. The walk up, group sales, scout sales, season ticket sales and prior sales generated by heavy promotion of the last game of the season created this marvelous paid turnout.

By the way, the 11,417 was the third largest crowd in the ECHL this season. Unless we get to the finals, it will remain that.

The Best Buy salesman knows he's been outed as a fraud. He has yet to respond to a bet offer of $8000 by me. If he can prove that 8,000 tickets were comped by businesses-something he claimed was the case more than once last night-then he will be $8,000 richer.

He won't take the bet and what would be free money because his claims are just absurd. Given that I know the walk up was at least 4,000 tickets sold, I know I have a winner here. C'mon 2 minnows! I could really use the extra $8k.

He's a lost child carrying the water for others who don't care much for us or the Cyclones. And he's spilled it all. Bad Water Boy, 2 minnows!

I have afew observations, hopefully they will slap a few in the face like it did me. I recently caught an interview with one of the 9/11 widows and she at the end was asked if she forgave the terroists...her reply was yes, I watched an old history channel type documentary one night where a criminal who killed someones entire family and the surviving family member gave forgiveness, yet nearly 8 years later, almost a decade we are still bickering over a Defunct, ceased to operate AHL team and the current incarnation of the Clones....WOW. I will also contend, and maybe I'm not practicing what I preach but my observations are that if certain groups would just leave most of us alone and enjoy what we enjoy, The Clones, then most of this would just go away

lastly, I have always felt that the Internet has been quite an innnovation in human history however what it really has become is a way of being crappy to one another without reprecussions, a way of making someone just as miserable as the poster who posted the crap in the first place, Two minutes, in his wisdom felt he needed to come on here to just stir everyone up? why...I just don't get it. Some of the statements posted on other alleged Cincinnati Hockey sites would result in fist fight outside of the secrecy of the internet so why does for whatever reason make it right now? I appreciate closer moderation of posts, I shake my head at moderators resposes like..."freedomw of speech", and "you might not like the message" but when its content becomes mean...like I have read, stuff about wives and children and folks weight...astounding......sorry about my rant.......seriously its minor league hockey, nothing more or less....and for those of you out there who feel that they have to come on here and stir things up....try being the solution and not part of the problem. Take your children out fishing or the park and stop spending so much time on bashing what some of us find enjoyable and a meaningful outing with our families.....end of rant...scuba

I was previously a moderator on another board and I can tell you it is like walking a tightrope. You don't want to allow utter insanity to break lose but there is no point in having a board if you are not going to allow differences of opinion. The best sign that you are doing a good job generally is that both sides are angry at you. I disagree 100% with the original opinion expressed but I think it is healthy to allow people to have their say as long as the discussion stays reasonable. If it gets unreasonable I have faith that the moderator of this board will do what he needs to do.

Just to address your other point - yes it is stupid for people to be continuing the hockey wars but some people seem to enjoy being miserable and making others miserable. If we all refuse to play their game then they have no power over us. Lets talk playoff hockey and ignore the nonsense.

Get Clones instead of Clunkers.

Cincinnati Cyclones

League Champs 2008 and 2010.

CincinnatiFan, I found this message on the Cincinnati.com article about the upcoming Clones vs. Wheeling series. Would this person count as a person that wants others miserable:

I hope the clones get swept 4-0 just because they have a stupid jersey retired for Pete Rose.

Oh well, my response to him: enjoy the Reds and Bungles. I prefer teams that are better than mediocre and awful.

Cyclones hockey. A championship caliber team in a city of losers.

You know sometimes, I'm tired of playing the guy not to drop to there level, I appreciate intellegent adult debate with folks, and in a perfect world I would like to have a moderated, and maybe Policed roundtable discussion regarding the Cincinnati Hockey atmosphere at a bar or meeting place somewhere, however I would believe that a few would act like children.

I read my original post, and I feel that I might have ranted and some of you might not have understood the Whole 9/11 comparison. Alot of folks have forgotten 9/11, I haven't however if someone can Foreget an event like that It's amazing to me that nearly a decade after the Ducks existance we are still intrenched in this....remarkable

You mean that team that produced NHL players like Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Chris Kunitz, Andy McDonald, JS Giguere, Ilya Bryzgalov, Joffrey Lupul, Dustin Penner, Curtis Glencross, Shane O'Brien, Kurtis Foster, Mike Commodore, Aaron Rome, Sheldon Brookbank, and Mike Leclerc? Just to name a few. I'm sure I left out some others.

Sure glad I watched those guys come through Cincinnati. Sorry for those who missed them. They were probably too worried about the "hockey war". You know, couldn't forgive Robinson for bringing in another team, so they'd rather watch an ECHL team called Cyclones than watching future NHL'ers. Good thing those widows forgave the terrorists and all.

Yeah but they probably would not have been in the AHL if the strike had not been that year as well. The stars aligned that year for that amount of talent to be in Cincinnati at 1 time.

Ryan Getzlaf - 19th overall
Corey Perry - 28th overall
JS Giguere - 13th overall
Ilya Bryzgalov - 2nd round pick
Joffrey Lupul - 7th overall
Kurtis Foster - 2nd round
Mike Commodore - 2nd rounder
Aaron Rome - 4th rounder
Mike Leclerc - 3rd round 55th overall
Chris Kunitz - 2 years including strike year
Andy McDonald - developed thru Ducks
Dustin Penner - Strike year
Curtis Glencross - Strike year
Shane O'Brien - 8th round / 2 years including strike year
Sheldon Brookbank - 2 years including strike year, also had full AHL season before coming to the ducks

Wouldnt say the Ducks produced a whole lot of those talents. Lot of 1st and 2nd rounders there. In cases of Getzlaf and Perry playing 10 and 3 playoff games before moving to the NHL team the next year doesnt come close to producing that talent.

Only one guy can really be claimed as produced by the Ducks, McDonald.

Okay, technically, their parents PRODUCED all those players. But the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks DEVELOPED those players. That's what the AHL does...why it's called a DEVELOPMENTAL league. When an NHL team drafts or trades for players, it sometimes sends them to the AHL for further DEVELOPMENT until the big league team feels they are ready to skate and be productive in the NHL. Glad I could help you out with that.

Regardless of anyone's definition of "development", this list of players represents some of the best talent to have worn a Cincinnati sweater in the last 20 years. The question was asked, "who are the Ducks?" That is the answer to the question.

The ducks are irrelevant. like the Washington Senators baseball team. Why is it important now? Get on with supporting the team that IS here, not your fantasy of a perfect world where two camps face off for hockey supremacy. It really doesn't matter how many "comps" are given to season ticket holders, if they gave away so many a night don't you think they would fill the barn every night ? Go CYCLONES GO !!!

I probably should not say anything, but this is an example of what this
site has turned to way too often. Why would you choose to post to a
thread that has been DEAD for 8 months just to bash something about the
Garden's or The Duck's ? Were you responding to a message that was pulled
because right now your 2/3/2010 response is to one from 6/29/2009. I agree
with what you said-just not the timing.
By the way-the main reason I'm responding here is this topic was one I
started LAST APRIL.

Thanks for the answer. You could have easily jumped on me like I've
done myself at times. Welcome aboard and don't let some posters get
under your skin. As you can see by the number of posts-I've have that
problem myself. I am now trying to cut way back on my fights!
