I have not seen the episode yet myself, but my buddy just told me that the panhandler that has a prosthetic leg and holds the sign indicating that he's an Iraqi war vet, was just on Police Women of Cincinnati and was exposed as a fraud.

This has been a source of debate between my wife and I, who she beleives they are all homeless and I beleive they are all scammers. My son, who is an Iraq war vet, was pretty upset with that guy after the game friday night said that he didnt beleive he was a war vet either.

I am a very community oriented and charitable person, as is my entire family, so I dont think Im being mean by not throwing money their way.

I will have to try and catch that episode, but I just thought I would throw this info out there.

Somersaults, thats how I roll!

That episode should be repeated on Thursday at 8:00 on TLC. I remember seeing that guy in the Clifton area where he was on the show, at the corner of William Howard Taft and Auburn just across from the Kroger in University Plaza. Tried to find the segment on YouTube but wasn't available. I assume he is on the street level (we park in the garage on the 5th level).

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

ZINGER!!!!!

That show highlights just how great our city is. I have seen that guy in Clifton too. The beggars I see heading to and from the game are at the bottom of the stairs of the parking garage and the guy that sits on a five gallon bucket on the concourse near the season ticket holder window. The guy that sets up shop on the concourse has been there for years.

I've seen them all over town, even in Kenwood. Pretty sorry situation. I understand many people fall on hard times and I believe in helping people in real need, but the drug addicts and lazy scammers dont get my sympathy.

@bhf303: I live downtown and I can vouch for the fact that most of those guys are making up whatever story is part of their sales pitch. For every one of them, there's scores of people who are really in a bad way -- and who can't sit outside a building with a cup. You have the right idea. Best to give to a food bank or shelter or some other legit charity.

I have no pity for them.

Altho the guy doesn't bother anyone who sits on the garage level.... he has been homeless for at least the past three years now and I've seen people give him a $70 Cyclones jersey, food, money... etc.

Sorry... but even if you are homeless you could get around $200-300 a week from sitting there... hitch a ride to truck stop that has a shower, buy some cheap business clothes at salvation army and get a interview at a fast food place. It is obvious the guy spends the money on drugs or drinks. Plus, he has a nice bicycle he always parks in the garage.

I've seen homeless people walk into the bars and dump all the money they get begging for beer.

The guy with a prostetic leg is named Guy Young. He is a real piece of trash. He is a Junkie. He passed out on his leg and he was out for so long it killed the nerves in his leg which he had to have it removed. He also did a story on cincinnati.com a few years back claiming to be a disabled vet.I make a point when I see someone giving him money or talking to him to yell something there way. I had a cousin killed in Iraq and have a friend and cousin there right now.God Bless the real HEROES!

I doubt that guy is even homeless. He probably rides his bike down from OTR or Covington and does his act on the concourse. I've seen him texting on a nice cell phone, and I did see him wearing the jersey you mentioned.

Last year at one of the $1 beer games some drunks were yelling "Let's go Cyclones!" outside after the game and some guy yelled "Let's go Homeless Guy!" I think the bum guy is just your typical loser that wont get a job or do anything with his life. I've seen a cop make him leave before once, why not bar these people from the arena?

One of the few times he was not there before the game, I asked him as I was walking out afterward where he was. He replied, I was at "my daughter's birthday party."
But he plays his role so well, I kind of think of him as the US Bank version of the Walmart Greeter.

Damn-stuck in Harrisburg, Pa with flight delay. Will not be able to get back in time for the game today.
