Former Cincinnati Swords & Stingers star Rick Dudley has been mentioned as a candidate for the Buffalo Sabres GM job. In addition to being one of the game's best talent evaluators, Dudley is a former Sabres player and head coach. Seems like a good fit all the way around for Buffalo.
The Sabres' alumni train won't include Rick Dudley.
Dudley, considered a front-runner to return to Buffalo as new general manager, will stay with the Canadiens. The Sabres asked Montreal for permission to speak with Dudley, and the Habs responded by giving their assistant general manager a "more lucrative deal."
