I know that this isn't really Cyclones talk and possible should be under another topic but.... I just got back from a trip of the Reds Minor league baseball system and included a stop at the Tennessee Smokies, which is owned by Doug K. I had spoke with him thru emails over the past few years but had the chance to visit in season. While I didn't get to meet up with Doug till after the game, I was in awe of the constant reminders of being at a Cyclones game back in the day. They just installed a video board this season and was able to see the rally monkey (Jump around), Whoomp there it is, and many other fond memory tunes and videos. If you ever get a chance to hit the Smokies, I would give the experience a 2 thumbs up. Doug was so gracious with his time and he was the same old person I knew and respected. I thanked him for all he has done over the years and wished him all the best in the future. HE asked me if we were really leaving Saturday as I had mentioned because he had his personal seats available and didn't want to see them go to waste if we were up to staying another night. We took them and had a blast.

Doug said to say hello to all and feel free to either write him or visit him down in the Smokies. He wishes everyone the best and would love to hear from everyone !!!

We go to the Smokies every year and if they're in town we always hit a game. Doug always makes time to stop and chat with me and my family and always asks us how long we're in town for and offers us tickets to another game. He's just a fantastic guy and I'll always have a ton of respect for him and what he did for the Cyclones.

I still would love to see a gray suit coat hanging in the rafters
next to Lawless,Biggs & Dionne! He made his later mistakes but his
early Cyclone's foundation made this franchise what it is today.
