I agree with Jtest (for the most part) The D is terrible and the goaltending is a mess, but the PK is where the improvement needs to happen for this team to have any chance of being a contender.
Grimaldi needs to go. I watched him play in Dayton and he was terrible. He was out of the line up on Sat and the team seemed to play better and more together. MacDonlad and perkins had a rough game last night, but I will give them a pass. With chad and conrad leaving left a huge gap in leadership on the blue line. I think matt is having to deal with that in addition to his responsibilities on the ice. TJ's return (whenever) should help him out. I hope that this new acquisition help the D but who knows.
The goal tending is another story. Loic is terrible and that is the real problem. Now Chuck has to rely on a guy that would be a decent #2 for most teams. He looked better against Dayton the second time around but he did give up some big rebounds. Even though he looked better, he could have easily given up 5 goals. On a side note, I just noticed Max's GAA is high than Gary's at this point in the season, but I am sure we would all feel more comfortable with Max between the pipes.
One good thing from Saturday's game was the play of the forwards (most of them). I thought the looked much better than they did in Dayton. Cohen looked like a solid addition and Rank impressed me on the PK. Van Guilder looked to be a very talented player. With Rank and Van Guilder the PK looked better but they still a long way to go to crawl out of the second last spot in the league.
