They should play a part of this before tonight's game. Guess which part?
(hint..... right after they sing "Montana Max has money") |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

A better performance from the Cyclones. The defense was improved and the goaltending was pretty close to perfect. Even Syro played with some hustle and looked much better. The game seemed chippier and at times Elmira seemed more interested in hitting us then getting the puck.
The offense seemed to be in better sync and more consistently "On". I think their positioning could be better as there were many rebounds/passes through the crease that would just sail on by as no one is there to convert them. The powerplay left me scratching my head as occasionally Elmira got the puck and we really didn't challenge them for it, wasting valuable time.
Two other notes: TJ McElroy hits anything that moves and isn't looking in his direction...Elmira grabs/holds/obstructs more than any team I have seen.
Lastly... how much did the jerseys go for? I don't think I could have afforded them but they did look good! |

TJ, I agree with you in regards to the power plays tonight. After the third PP, I got to the point of yelling " Come on Clones. I thought this was a power play not a penalty kill!!!"
In addition, some of the players looked like they could make a strike if they got out of the zone offense from time to time. Hopefully, the Cyclones will make the correct adjusments before the next game. |

| True, last nights game was better. But, where was Manway and Schro. These two are the two biggest guys on the ice, they both play as if they are 4 feet tall and weigh 20 pounds. Weber needs to say good bye to both and replace them with guys who want to play the game. Like McElroy..... I look for some changes before next game - hopefully |

Last night was a much better game for the "team". However, Makway made 5 blind passes that did not clear the zone allowing Elmira an additional 6 shots on goal. I am not here to ruffle anyones feathers but he needs to go! Siro - step up and put some effort into the game or go sell realestate. TJ plays with heart - you've got to love him!
We've scored the second most goals in the league (behind Wheeling and we all know that we are the reason that they are leading!!). I have been realy impressed with Beauregard and Latendresse - again guys that play with heart. Rank is another guy that works hard on every shift. I wish that they would let Woods play his game. Weber must have gotten on him for taking some bad penalties. Now is scared to even play the body...
Goal tending looked pretty good - Gajewski gives up too many rebounds but overall played well. |

| Olivier Latendresse went for $800! The reason's are simple. He was on the same line as DD last year. They have similar looks to them, skills, speed. He was MVP of last night game.He could be better if coach can find a match for him on the same line. Unfortunely Mitch Woods is not keeping up with him, or focusing enough. By mid second peroid Mitch looks completely exhausted. Side note; coach is shopping for another goilie, Lacasse is out for minimum of 6 weeks. |

I love watching Rank play, hustles and seems to play smart hockey. I agree, Gajewski played well last night, but those rebounds are scary, as is his wanderlust out of the crease. If he could hold onto a few of those shots, he could avoid some of those open netters he gives up.
On Syro's behalf, he does have 9 points in 9 games. |

Unmentioned but also much improved was the penalty kill. Sometimes I think Rank was keeping Elmira bottled up on his own. Latendresse is much improved as well using his puckhandling and speed to his advantage and Eghoetz is always out there giving 100%.
Elmira was 0-11 this weekend on the PP. 'nuf said! |

While Syro and Makway are big on the ice (and Lynch is even taller) penalties and hitting aren't their games. Lifetime Makway averages less than 2 PIM a game; Syro less than 3 PIM (including a stint w/ Ft. Wayne!)
Makway and Lynch for all their size are really defensive defenseman. Stopping shots and knocking the man of the puck seems their game. Yes, they are a work in progress. Passes aren't always tape to tape... sometimes forwards get by them...they don't always block shots.. but if they did, they wouldn't be here.
Syroczynski's role is get in front of the goalie in the offensive zone and create havoc. Again based on his numbers, especially last year, he's pretty effective in what he does, which is not randomly knocking into people. As someone once said, "We have people for that."
So who are those people?
Mitch Woods is one who picks up a lot of penalties and is a pretty good agitator. He kept Elmira looking over its collective shoulder when he was on the ice (Which keeps people away from Latendresse).
TJ McElroy currently is one but I have a feeling he's playing a role that Milwaukee needs and he's polishing his skills here in the E waiting to be called up again. He didn't play with as much of an edge last year but did suffer a concussion midway through the playoffs. His PIM are elevated above his norm since he's been back. I can't lie here, his hits are fun to watch, especially when it takes a few seconds for the recipient to figure out why he's staring at the arena ceiling. (Whoa...there's banners up there...)
Joe Ryan may be one. He came out and had a decent scrap that should have set the tone for the game. He won, we won...maybe it did .?.
Joe Grimaldi was most likely penciled in to be one. Throwing things in the crowd doesn't cut it however nor does being suspended for nine games. Enjoy Elmira, you'll fit right in.
Matt McDonald may be one but like McElroy he's a talented defenseman who will take the role if asked but contributes on many different levels and doesn't have to be the agitator. It pays off for him with long stints in the AHL.
So what does all this mean ?....
Did McElroy change the game with his hit in front of our goal? In one word, yes. It put us on the powerplay and kept Elmira out of our zone late in the game when they really needed to score. (How he was called for holding, i'll never know... roughing maybe) Elmira ran around trying to retailiate after the PP was over and never got back on track.
With the ECHL roster limitations you have to be multitalented to make the team. Coach Weber's teams have never been more than moderately physical but we do have guys that can and do stand up on different night. Let the scorers score, let the defense defend and when you have to be physical you'll never know from where it going to come from. |

We don't need one until Wednesday and by that time we probably will have somebody else. In a worst case we can always add Lee Lansdowne again before the next game. |

| i'm guessing we won't see anything until the team has the results of loic's MRI. i was looking back through the transactions and he hasn't been moved to IR yet, at least it hasn't been posted. we know he's going miss sometime, but how much is going to be the big question. the quality of goalie chuck is going to get is going to be impacted by how much time loic is going to miss. if he's out for the year there's a good chance chuck can bring in a top notch guy, if it's a 6 to 8 week deal it's going to be more of a crap shoot. |

| Loved Saturday night's game - still room for some improvement, but at least we're heading in a positive direction!! Apparently they raised $10,000 from the jersey auction. Olivier's jersey price liked to have killed me! I did end up buying Gajewski's so I was happy - never again, lol, one game worn jersey is enough for me!! |
