CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that they have placed forward Mitch Woods on the club’s suspended list. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Woods, 22, quit the team on Tuesday and is returning to his home in Saskatchewan. He has been placed on the Cyclones suspended list and his rights are maintained by the club. Mitch will be unable to play hockey for any other North American professional hockey team while under suspension.
The five-foot-eleven, 175 pound native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan appeared in twelve games with the Cyclones and had a goal and two assists for three points and 41 penalty minutes.

Yep. The Cyclones own his rights. He signed a contract. So he belongs to the Clones until they release him. |

I mean I knew they could keep him from ECHL teams... just didn't think they could keep him from the CHL IHL...
and I'm sure that the contract is for one year so I would Imagine he could do something after that...
I Guess he will be crossing the pond otherwise... |

He seemed to be real cocky off the ice when I tried to talk with him a few times after games. So I'm thinking he didn't want to buy into Weber system and was told to shape up or ship out and he chose to ship out. More power to him. If he don't want to be here I think that it's better for the team for him to leave. |

Mitch hardly even did anything this year, so how can you call him a goon. |

| My feeling is like that above. He either couldn't or wouldn't play into Chuck's system & so he quit. I also think he will "disappear" into Europe. Oh well, that's his decision! |

| I am totally in awe of some people. Instead of speculating to what happened and why Mitch left, find out what really happened! Maybe he didn't like Weber's coaching, maybe he didn't get along with the other guys on the team, maybe he just wanted to quit, MAYBE HE IS HAVING FAMILY PROBLEMS AND NEEDED TO GET OUT OF CINCINNATI!!! Why doesn't everyone get out of these players business and let them play hockey!!! |

Classy! "We the fans" ------ is that just that section of fans who don't talk to anyone else? Don't tell me to get over it, because honestly I don't give a crap.

Well, as fans we do a lot of speculating, that's just the nature of the beast whether it's right or wrong in some peoples opinion. I've also seen others set straight on what they believe if they were wrong. It happens.
Not to stir the pot, but there is some validity to the "fans" who don't talk to anyone else. Susan was about the only one at the picnic who talked to us (thank you). I went down to Section 60 at a game to introduce myself so I know who I'm talking to on here. The only ones that talked to me and made me feel welcome was jevers and the two guys sitting next to him (thank you guys, too). Heckler From Hell was very personable when I talked to him, but several others wouldn't give me the time of day. And of course some good people on here I've chatted with during games (even some Dayton fans...LOL)! Of course, that's their right. No biggie. I'm there to support MY team (as I have since their IHL days). Any comraderie I get is just a bonus, not a necessity.
Didn't mean to get on a soap box..... |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |
