Now that was Cyclone Hockey!!! I would grade the offense a B, the defense a B+ and the goaltending a B-.If not for the one soft goal at the end Martin looked real good.Great saves in the early 2nd period to stop a sure Wheeling goal. Also nice stops in the shootout.Hope Martin is in goal tomorrow night and use Kyle then Tuesday night. Back to basics and look great.Sure need a scorecard to figure out who is out there! |

Agreed!! And you could tell his disappointment in himself with that goal! Luckily he pulled it off in the SO and took home the win!! Thanks JTest for that awesome prediction of how ****ty of a goalie he was! Do you still wanna send him and the 2pts back? Not saying he's the Savior, but he deffffinately didn't look awful for having just joined this team especially when it's obvious we don't have the best D out there! I thought everyone looked a lot better tonight though! Even with 2394238923 fights. |

Good stuff Friday nite.
Houle looks to be a good aquisition. Goal #3 fell into the ultra-soft, gimme another shot at that one category, but Houle did a great job of controlling rebounds. Wheeling also helped the cause by not taking shots on some pretty wide open scoring opportunities, imo.
I think that we out shot WHL by 39-24 (regulation anyway). It seems as if the games of giving up in the high 30's or 40 shots are over. I still think that we need at least one and perhaps two defensemen if we're going to be highly competitive. However, Weber has shown that he can make the trades. Last season he got Swanson, McElroy and Rudkowski during the season via trade. I expect that trend to continue this season.
Clones are averaging 3061 for their first 6 home games versus 2180 last season. That's a 40.4% increase. Certainly nothing to sneer at in these uncertain economic times. |

| The Rockettes should have been with section 60 and done the YMCA with them instead of just standing there looking stupid. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I also agree that the team played, in my opinion, much better. I felt as did my friends with me that the team was playing as a group, not just individuals out there. My hat is off to Martin for helping the team win.

Sorry Cait...CLUELESS Jtest? Martin made some great saves over the 2 games. 2 of the 5 goals over the weekend were on the power play. The one goal by Clarke I believe, was a cannon of a shot. Houle might not be the second coming but I feel like the Cyclones have a better chance of winning when hes on the ice.

Apparently you're the one that's CLUELESS. I clearly posted, "Not saying he's the Savior." When you can start processing sentences I'll listen to your hockey "wisdom." |

second night jitters i think not. actually houle played very well on saturday night. the first goal was more the fault of macdonald falling on his face and beauregard lame attempt at back checking. i don't care who was in net there was going to be a goal there. something very similar happened buffalo's goalie last week against boston. the basics of goal tending is to react to the puck, but at this level you have to see the play develop as well. had the play developed they it looked like it was going to houle would have stopped the shot with out an issue. the wheeling forward had the shot roll off the heel of his stick sending it short side, macdonald fell on his face and goebel skates around the net, picking the puck up and scoring on the wrap around...sometimes **** happens
the second goal was off an excellent shot; there aren't very many goalies in this league that were going to stop it.
if stopping 26 of 28 is 2nd night jitters and not enough to impress you after the performances we've seen previous to houle's arrival i'm not really sure what you're expecting. the reason we lost saturday is our offense ran into a hot goalie and came up short...

1. Macker eating ice instead of blocking goals seems to be a common occurance lately.
2. Awesome description of the goal being scored, but you forgot to mention again the fact that the Schmidt... oops I mean Beau... was somewhere in Lala Land thinking that the puck was going to come back for him. |

Hey - I was specifically called out by someone based on the single night performance of the new goalie. Very premature of Caitskee to assume that my predictions were incorrect. I'll be back to this thread in about a month and we'll check the wins and loses column to see just who is "clueless" and who and has "knowledge".
I agree he is betther then what we had - I simply made the point that we could have done better - Caitskee thought that I would be wise to question my opinion...We'll see Einstein! |

Hey JTest, What goalie(s)are out there that is better and that is not under contract and not going to cost the team more then $200? Are you a scout? If so maybe you should go ask Chuck and Dean for a job and maybe you can go pull in someone better. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. |
