Denis' absence meant Cedrick Desjardins got three consecutive starts for the Dogs. And he was brilliant in all of them, backstopping the team to a three-game winning streak.
After making 33 saves in his shutout win Friday in Manchester, Desjardins turned aside 39 of 41 Hartford shots Saturday.
David Desharnais scored twice against the Wolf Pack, while Chad Anderson, Alex Henry, Brock Trotter and Yanick Lehoux added singles for the Bulldogs, who held period leads of 3-1 and 5-1.
Jordan Owens and Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau replied for Hartford.
"It was a nice couple of games," said Lever. "Cedrick (Desjardins) has come around and played real solid again, and Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais were really good.

I've always said he's good if he plays 'every day'
He's rusty if he comes of the bench, every 4th game or whatever. Ceddy will do just fine... Here's wishing him the best. |

Desharnais now has 14 points (6g8a) in his last 11 games and has risen to third in scoring among all AHL rookies. http://stats.theahl.com/stats/statdisplay.php?type=top_scorers&subType=2&season_id=16&&leagueId=4&lastActive=&singleSeason=
Given that DD started the season with limited 3rd line playing time, it makes his performance all the more impressive.
Over the past 11 games he is scoring at a 100+ points per season pace. Not bad for a guy who was undrafted and who must consistently overcome the cliched criticism of his lack of size despite his ability to win battles in the corner and his strength on the puck.
NHL? At the rate he is adapting and excelling in the AHL and the fact that he is only 22 years old, I'd have to say that he's probably 50/50 to at least get a look by the end of next season.
Until then, Greg Stewart can taunt him as a 'career minor leaguer". LOL. |

| No, I wasn't expecting to get the game puck so I didn't run to the tunnel. But it was nice knowing Ceddy was thinking of me. I was almost in tears as Ceddy was the first and maybe only player to sign my jersey. What a class act and fine young man he is. Thanks for a great day Joe. Now go back to the Glue Processing Station!! |

Desjardins is on a roll.
In his last three games (all Hamilton wins), he has allowed a grand total of 3 goals on 100 shots. His save percentage for these three starts is .970 and he has a goals against average of 0.99 over this span.
Here is a link to Cedric's statistics for the season:http://stats.theahl.com/stats/gamebygame.php?id=1701 |
